Ranking of Best 2015 College GameDay's. SDS gets a lot of reads from SEC teams. Good to see JMU crack the SEC rankings!!

2. Richmond at James Madison, Harrisonburg, Va., Oct. 24: The setting for this FCS College GameDay appearance was the beautiful campus of James Madison University, just one of the reasons why this unique visit was one of the best of 2015. Corso was at his all-time best here, digging deep into American history to set up his host game pick. In fact, Corso dressed up as James Madison himself, ruffled shirt and all, striding out majestically to address the cheering crowd with a presidential speech, which he ended by donning the JMU Dukes’ mascot head.

When JMU beat VT, some of their players said some dumb stuff but Beamer was extremely classy about it. He didn't make excuses. I have nothing bad to say about that guy. He seems like a great person and had a great career.

Agree, my issue with VT has much more to do with their fans than their team or coaches.

RE: College Gameday at JMU?
so, for 2017, as defending champs who rolled through the Fargo Dome on the way to the title we should be lobbying for a spot on gameday on (in the order i think we have a shot):
10/14 hosting Villanova
http://www.espn.com/college-football/schedule/_/week/7
Marquee games this weekend include:
Utah at USC

10/28 hosting NH who has made the FCS playoffs approximately 100 years in a row (but its Homecoming so not at all great for logistics)
http://www.espn.com/college-football/schedule/_/week/9
Marquee games this weekend include:
Penn St at Ohio St
OK St at WV
Georgia at Florida

11/11 hosting Richmond. The revenge game for last time we were on gameday.
http://www.espn.com/college-football/schedule/_/week/11
Marquee games this weekend include:
Michigan State at Ohio St
FSU at Clemson
Notre Dame at Miami
USC at Colorado

I assume 9/23 is too early in the season, that Maine is a slightly lower quality opponent, and its family weekend; but the slate of games is pretty weak that week too so if we beat ECU maybe that has the tiniest of hope too.

RE: College Gameday at JMU?
10/14 is the only potential date it could happen. The marquee games on 10/28 and 11/11 are too big for them to even give us an outside chance. They won't pass up Penn State/Ohio State and Florida State/Clemson. Both will be highly ranked teams going into those games.

Root for Utah and/or USC to fall apart in the early season to leave 10/14 as wide open.

It's worth noting they did not do an FCS site last year. I think they may have had a "sportscenter live from" the fargodome (nope this happened in 2015).
It looks like their visit to Western Michigan "took the place" of the FCS college gameday in 2016. If a G5 is doing well, undefeated, they may go there instead.

Another thought:
JMU WILL have won 17 straight games (including playoffs) when we play Villanova

I don't know about Lee, but with how much the crew of CGD loved their JMU experience and made it known how much fun it was (best ever?), I think we have clout with or without him being there.

Those 17 wins would be the longest streak in the country for D1.

We already hold the longest streak in the country. Do you mean the all-time record? Austin Peay with 27 straight losses. Wow.

If JMU beats ECU, we set a program best 13 game winning streak.

I'm assuming it's been a while since the MVFC's longest winning streak was "1" and not a team named NDST...

RE: College Gameday at JMU?
i'm probably in the minority, but I kind of wish the Villanova game wasn't the White Out game. two reasons:

1.) if we get Gameday (big IF, obviously), I want to see a sea of purple. Most people aren't going to change before the game, I promise you.

2.) White Out games are better very early in the year. by October 14th, we may be looking at light jacket weather. That could also be our inevitable "rain game" that comes once a year. either way, no one is going to see white under those jackets and sweatshirts.

it's not a huge deal, but unless it's absolutely gorgeous (T-shirt) weather, you're not going to see all that much white in the crowd.

Good points. Where did you find this game is a White Out game? Being older, this is something I rarely concern myself with (the young folk will now shame me forever), but still would like to know where this information can be found.

Game Day wont come back because we let Lee Corrso down in his predicted outcome. He won't put the Duke dog head on anymore.

Well if he was such a college football guru, he would've done his research and realized EW was too busy talking to the media all week and held a pathetic amount of practices. 03-weeping
