first though we have to get our fearless AD (fearful ?) to retract his statement about avoiding a schedule with Alabama, Michigan, and other programs like that. We would also have to convince a few of our fans too who want no parts of Alabama or strong teams.

ODU has to be the rival for now, right? I personally think App State is a better rivalry, but don't know if it is reciprocated. Maybe they associate more with Georgia Southern as former Southern conference mates prior to the SunBelt.

I believe App is our biggest rival. We already have a long history as rivals. Next would be ODU, then I think we will see Marshall become a big rival again.

Yeah in all seriousness I'd say App is probably our biggest football rival now that we've made the move. ODU will quickly be back to being our biggest basketball rival, and really you could argue they never stopped being the biggest. There'll definitely be some carry over there plus just a natural football rivalry with them, but in football I don't think it'll top App State any time soon. JMU/App will likely be two teams battling frequently for the conference title who also have solid history going way back including some absolutely insane endings and come backs. JMU/ODU have a lot of history but not football history and it's less likely(but not impossible!) to be two of the conference's top teams on a regular basis.

It's one of those things where rivalries aren't going to be reciprocated as being the biggest on both sides though so that kinda makes it hard to compare to rivalries where both sides are clearly #1 like Duke/UNC, Alabama/Auburn, Texas/Oklahoma, etc. App will probably always view GS as their biggest rival, ODU will probably view us as their biggest football rival, we'll view App as our biggest football rival, we'll view ODU as our biggest basketball rival, ODU will view VCU as their biggest basketball rival. They'll all still be big rivalries, but if we're looking for that clear "you're our biggest rival and we're yours" I don't know if we'll have that any time soon.

Pretty rare CGD goes to the same spot (Tennessee) within a two week frame. All rules are off, we got this for Marshall homecoming or undefeated sun belt championship late November.

I can't speak to Lee Corso's condition, but don't confuse all stroke, brain injury, Parkinson's, Cerebal Palsy, MS and a ton other afflictions with a degradation in mental faculty. There are a lot of brain-related conditions that impair speech and delay reaction, but the person can have full mental capacity. Wouldn't wish it on my worst enemy.

His name keeps getting mentioned for P5 jobs but yeah that seems extremely unlikely to me. He hasn't even shown he can compete with top FCS teams.

Have to say, happy for Montana St having gameday today! Looks electric! Montana/Montana St has deserved to have a gameday for YEARS! One of the few FCS games I'll continue to pay attention to after JMU left.
