Grier suspended for year
Will Grier is suspended the rest of the year for testing positive for PED's. So yeah, we lost by 7 to a team that's QB was cheating.

Here's the link: Will Grier suspended

It's not like he won them that game. It was well played on both sides.

No I agree, but it still stings. I would have liked our chances that much more if Treon Harris was the QB the whole game.

Grier has the better arm and can make all the throws. Harris is a better runner. With good coaching and defense they can still win with Harris.

I don't know what the QBRs were for those games, but Harris threw a WR screen that went for 86 yards and a TD last year. Other than that he was 4 of 10 for 37 yards with 1 TD and 1 Int. This year he was 5 of 8 for 54 yards, and more than half of those came on one play.

But who knows what would have happened if he played the whole game. He might have torched us. Maybe them switching QBs helped keep them out of rhythm. I don't really care to play the what if game, but Harris was hardly fear inducing as a passer. He had some success running though.

Really? It's in an over the counter supplement? I actually feel bad for the kid. From the interview it sounds like he has no idea.

Yeah, it was stupid on his part to not clear any supplements by his coaches, but at the same time it'd be easy to think if its something you can just grab off the shelf at GNC that it'd be okay.

Wow, I didn't realize that, that is pretty stupid. I think that's something where the coaches have to let the players know before hand if they take something to run it by the coaching staff first. That being said suspending him the rest of the year for something you can get from GNC seems a bit excessive.

As far as I know, they haven't said what it was. Everyone who get's caught claims it was a simple over the counter mistake.

Yeah...maybe 20-25 years ago but every college and pro athlete today knows not to take any over the counter supplement (usually with ingredients they never ever heard of) without clearing it with their medical staff.

Grier obviously wanted to bulk up this off-season and it worked (at least for awhile).

UF has one of the best athletic medical staffs around (heck, they invented Gatorade), and there is a good reason why other teammates weren't taking this same stuff that Grier was ingesting.

The excuse of "I didn't know what was in the over the counter supplement" went out the same year (believe it was 1933) when the excuse "My dog ate my homework" was finally eradicated from being a legit excuse.

No legal over the counter supplement packs 40 lbs of lean tissue onto your frame. It's a bunch of BS. Just like Mark McGuire blaming andro. At best your body normally synthesizes about .5 oz of lean muscle a day.

Yep, every player who has ever been caught taking PEDs has said it was "over-the-counter".

I remember an olympic sprinter claiming their they tested positive because they had too many coffees the morning of the race. It turned out they would have had to drink like 500 cups of coffee to get the levels of caffeine they tested to have their system.
