RE: Memphis AD @ Memphis ticket office this morning
It will be a HUGEEEEEEEE challenge for our Tigers this weekend, but it feels sooooo great to see our program alive and doing great things!!! Before last year, the last 5-7 years killed the spirit for most Memphis fans with only a hand full of wins during that time. I think they said this morning, they are expecting 60,000 for the game which would be a sell out. The weather is supposed to be PERFECT......sunny with temps near 70 degrees. 2 top 25 teams located only 80 miles from each other and it's our first time on ABC. I just hope the Tigers are up to the challenge vs a team some had winning the SEC West. I expect the over/under for this game to be somewhere around 75 points by Friday.

Here is more on the tickets going so fast this morning....... http://memphis.247sports.com/Bolt/Fuente...s-40190962

That's fantastic.

Naive question here. Oxford is obviously much closer to Memphis than MSU, for example, but how do the Ole Miss/ MSU fans break down by where they live and travel to road games? Will there be on the order of 10,000 Ole Miss fans there?

Yup. And they will be on the side shown on tv so I'm sure the tv crew will try to say it's closer to 50/50. There's no way there won't be at least 45k Tiger fans there, which only leaves room for 15k black bear fans.

Ole Miss used to play its home game against Tennessee in Memphis. The home game for Tennessee was in Knoxville. Lots of Ole Miss fans in Memphis and the north Mississippi suburbs and the same media market.

Thanks for the answer. Sounds somewhat similar to UK fans in the Northern Kentucky suburbs (although it isn't the same media market as Cincinnati). Good luck Saturday!

Very true!!!! Then, if Houston, Navy or Temple were to beat the Tigers, they would move ahead of Boise and any other non P-5 school.

It's probably similar to Pitt and WVU. There might be more olemiss alums in Memphis than in Jackson, MS.

I remember Seth Greenberg buying pizza for the students in the early CUSA years.

Well, that speaks pretty loudly regarding how they expect the OM defense to throttle our offense. It will be an interesting Saturday morning and early afternoon.

I'm sure that won't be a problem!!! Our students and drunk old men will make sure to do their part....lol. This game is ALWAYS full of emotions. Last year, the Ole Miss PUNTER got ejected 3 minutes into the game!!!

Cincy fans can hold their liquor and take a punch....Ole miss fans not so much

This ole miss fan lipped off at an alabama fan. I imagine the results will be similar in Memphis

Likely that both offenses will throttle both defenses. I guess they assume the weather will be perfect for that much offense.
