Nice win for the Huskies over Ball State. Now we’re on to Miami of Ohio….
Simply put, we need to demolish the Redhawks. This is a program that is in a transition phase with a relatively new coach, lack of talent, etc. They have been pounded nearly every week this year and I fully expect NIU to do the same. We are the dominant team in the MAC. We have been for the past few years and I fully expect to continue to dominate. We have what Miami wants. We are a much better football team and need to act like it on Saturday.
So lets go into Oxford, OH and step on their throats! Show them who the big dog on the block is…
My prediction: NIU 55, Miami 17.
Who will be making the trip to Oxford? Lets cheer on this Huskie team to another MAC victory.
Happy Monday, folks. Go NIU.

I am going with HMM and NIUCoils and a couple more. Looks like it's going to be a great day for a tailgate and a football game!

If a couple things fall into place I'll be at Miami with another NIU alum. So far so good.

My wife and I might attend, it is the start of a vacation week for us which we have not done extensive planning for.
We live in Dublin, Ohio and plan on attending homecoming in DeKalb the next weekend as well with our granddaughters who live in Wisconsin

Miami and Oxford are truly a destination. It's like someone took the idea of what a college and a college town should look like and plopped it down in SW Ohio.

It is a beautiful campus in a beautiful rural setting. Unfortunately, like all other MAC schools they have lousy football attendance despite their rich history.
Ohio U also has a very nice campus if you ever have an opportunity to check it out.

I'd put Ohio and Athens a notch above Miami and Oxford. Definitely my favorite MAC destination.
BTW, Ohio does not have "lousy" football attendance. They draw very well.

Yes, my lousy attendance regardless of the rich football tradition comment referred to Miami.
The entire MAC conference has poor attendance though considering the quality of play.
The conference cannot give up on their attempts to improve attendance but so far all attempts have been unsuccessful.
NIU in particular should be looking at sell out crowds for home games and instead we often play in a half full stadium. For whatever reason it is getting worse rather than better despite a great game day experience.

Do you buy tickets the day of the game and do you know if there is a visiting section. It would be more fun to sit with other Huskie fans.

There is always a visitor section. I get my tickets through NIU normally, but I am sure you could buy walk ups and just come over to the NIU section if you cant buy in that section directly.

Thanks, we plan to buy the day of the game and in that case I will ask for tickets in the visitors section.

I wouldn't worry about it. There'll be 5,000 people there.

For their first two home games, Miami is averaging 16,440. With the Huskies coming to town Saturday and it being Family Day, they should draw a decent crowd.

16K? Miami has been terrible the last few years and somehow still has better attendance than NIU this season.

I didn't want to bring that up, but yeah. Cincinnati was one of their home games and that's a bigger draw, but still. . . Our attendance sucks.

I would put Ohio U. way way better than Miami. All the buildings at MU are alike. OU is so nice--best campus in the MAC (other than UMass-have not been there yet.)

Was there back in 2009. Think they had about 3-4k.
Met some people on here, HMM, took a pic with Diesel. I think there were about 50 cars in the lot, 1/2 were NIU people tailgating lol.
Good time.
