UL-L when questioned on the matter should state that they will determine what constitute appropriate sanctions once the NCAA has adjudicated the UNC case.

We did that to the NCAA before and received the death penalty.

The deck is stacked against any school questioning the NCAA unless your a blood blue program then you can get away with murder.

Cash rule everything around me...

RE: NCAA 'Bout To Drop The Hammer on Louisiana-Lafayette?
One thing I learned after the Memphis Final Four was vacated. The NCAA still paid the units earned to CUSA but docked it the amount that Memphis would receive in league revenue sharing. I asked an NCAA official about it and was told that they do that so schools won't be afraid to hurt their own bottom line by turning in a league member.

Probably somebody in the same boat, looking for leniency when their turn comes around.

So you're accusing Rick Pitino?

Case was closed today with the final report

Self-imposed penalties were accepted by the NCAA.

Additional penalties imposed:
2 year probation ending January 11, 2018
8 year show cause for former assistant coach David Saunders (now head coach at a CC in Mississippi)
$5,000 fine
Limitation of visits to 38 for 2016-17 season
Additional 3 week ban on communication during 2016-27 season
Vacate wins from 2012-14 seasons in which ineligible players participated. University will identify those games.

Quote:This case initially arose out of a different investigation at another member institution.

Still waiting on this P5 school to have their day in front of the NCAA.

Also, the university filed a lawsuit today against ACT, Inc. for negligence. You can read more here, along with a copy of the lawsuit.

The Tarheels had an entire athletic department, university, and school system lie for them, yet they still haven't been called out for their absolute disgraceful actions. On the other hand, you have schools like ULL, who self-reported the infractions, or Appalachian State, that gets banned from post-season play for low GPAs. I can't wait till the day that schools like UNC meet their maker and the NCAA/whatever higher being you believe in comes down on them with the hammer of Thor.

That's not how this works! That's not how any of this works!

Then how does it work? P5 school gets away with murder and small G5 school gets hammered?

To be honest...these penalties aren't all that terrible. They're bad, don't get me wrong...but I'd breathe a sigh of relief after hearing the ruling compared to what most of the fan base was probably expecting.

Precisely! The "chosen ones" can do no wrong. If you started pouring tons of money into "amateur" college athletics before 1950 then you have a permanent get out of jail free card with the NCAA. To offset this, the NCAA treats "the scrubs" as whipping boys for even the slightest violation.
