That's a good point. Set out on that slippery slope, and someday you could even see a university conducting fraudulent classes. That would probably result in not just the athletic program, but the entire university being shut down. What other choice would the university's governing body, state government (if a public institution) and accrediting agencies have? Not that I really imagine anyone could be so unabashedly corrupt as to do something like that, but there are a handful of people whose depravity knows no limit. ULL must be punished severely or else 20 years from now we might even see multiple fake classes offered by some desperate, lower-tier university.

That should tell you how irrelevant this issue is in the grand scheme of college football. Weather ULL gets off scott free or the ban hammer comes down several times. Not many people will know about it outside of the Sunbelt and Lafayette/ULL.

Well, they matter to me, and to a fair number of other people. I'm 8 hours away, though.

Seems to me this whole thing amounts to the ncaa is so pissed at excuse me miss they are going to hammer UL.

Boy do I remember that game like it was yesterday, that would have been 1971 or 72. We got the opening tipoff and fed the ball to Bo Lamar who made an uncontested jump shot from about 40 feet. Seriously. Look at the image of the court below. He shot the ball from where that short blue line at the top of the image is painted over half the distance to mid-court. How far is that from the basket?

Yeah, that's right. Couldn't remember if it was from the corner or from under the bucket. I've been away from officiating for too long... lol
