All in favor, say 'I' 04-cheers

You can add Holy Bovine to that list he and Bob don't exactly have a love fest going on maybe you can Nehru Jacket and call it a love festival.

So, I say I'm not a fan of Murphy's basketball style (completely valid opinion, BTW) and now I'm anti-EMU? Good God this board is awful.

Hm wrong thread there Cowman. But I think its accurate to say you and Bob had a bit of a tiff. Of course there aren't many on this board who hasn't had a tiff with Bob.

RE: Time for a New Stadium
I think the biggest problem is the football team is so bad; and we've exhausted all the reasons why, that now we don't have anything to talk about. If EMU were hovering around .500 or had a winning record and were looking at their first bowl game in 20 years, we would be discussing match-ups, game plans, etc... But instead we've watched the worst defense in America for 3 years now. How many times can we call for McCaslin to be fired (I've been a broken record about it), we re-hash the Bell vs Roback argument all the time, Bell isn't a quarterback and Roback makes stupid mistakes etc.... So now we are stuck in the lull between a football season that can't end soon enough and the start of basketball. As for the arguments on this board; I'm sure winning cures a lot of the frustration and it will give us something else to talk about. I disagree with a lot of what is said on this board (especially the redundancy on certain topics), but at the end of the day I'm happy there a few other EMU fans out there, even in all we do is bicker and complain. Plus, pretty soon the basketball team will either be exceeding expectations, or not living up to expectations, then we will have a whole other group of things to discuss/complain about. It doesn't help that many of us are Lions fans and that team is a garbage dump of a franchise. I'm glad I hunt and fish, otherwise my weekends would be really pathetic watching these teams.

I think this is probably correct. I believe (or maybe hope) a successful basketball season will lead to more civil, level-headed discussion on here.

Probably the most cogent and honest post in this thread. Thank you.

Thankfully, I have been Lions free for 50 years.

This place is pretty dysfunctional. Losing puts everybody in a bad mood.

RE: Time for a New Stadium
I know EMU can not build a new stadium, but we could make it exciting for fans and players by getting closer to the field.

We absolutely must investigate temporary endzone bleachers for fans. This would give the players a more exciting atmosphere. If we can get a DC who is average along with some defensive JUCO players, maybe we start winning next year. If we do, let's get the stadium ready to build on the momentum....

Nobody but parents of our track team care about whether they win or lose. Football and basketball are kings of the sports world. That is reality!!

Endzone bleachers provide the absolute worst view for any football game. Last place on earth I'd want to sit as a fan.

This past weekend, I actually had to sit in some temporary endzone bleachers brought in for a Michigan high school football game, and it was terrible. The only time it was worth watching, was when a score was about to happen in our endzone from the 20 yard line, in. Otherwise it's impossible to judge the depth of field, and you are completely blocked from any decent view of the team with it's back to you.

You're wasting your time trying to reason with Luckeyone. Obviously he knows everything and probably should be hired to replace Lyke as AD.

Time for a New Stadium
Any idea that includes adding seats needs to be tabled until we at least fill the seats we presently have...
