Doesn't upset me at all. Just saying vacating games that have already been played, probation and firing some low level coach has no effect. If faking that many ACT test scoreS does not warrant a bowl ban it should. Not to mention if players were paid, which is just a wild accusation I guess. You can make me out to be whatever evil strawman you want if it makes you feel better. Good luck
I'm sure the university and their highly paid legal team they hired that deals with NCAA infractions will make sure to contact you next time before they make decisions and self impose sanctions out of thin air.
Maybe they should have consulted with me about fudging ACT scores...no law degree needed their. I would have told them for free. I actually defended UL earlier in the thread but it is obvious the UL fanatics are to tightly wound up right now not to freak out over any hint of criticism or critique....
No it's just funny all the message board experts who found out about this 6 days ago know what we should have done instead of the legal team involved for almost 2 years now, one that specializes in NCAA sanctions. The only reason anyone knows this is because our local beat writer wouldn't leave it alone.
Local beat writers shouldn't leave such things alone.
That said. Let's for sake of argument say that everything that UL has said is correct. That it is a rogue coach who tried to boost his recruiting rep by setting up his own scam....and that is how it appears right now.
If so....what punishment should the players who didnt know get? What punishment should the coaches who didn't know get? What punishment should the school admin who didn't know get? Should an ACT who didn't know get punished?
And its not just that they didn't know....unless this guy, or the ACT, told them....they really had no way of knowing even if they dotted every i and crossed every t.
If what they say is true, then the Cajun coaches, the admin, the players, and the fans are actually victims and shouldn't be punished at all.

I agree but we all know that isn't how it works. That's why I get so pissed off when people suggest we should have self imposed more. We shouldn't have to have self imposed what we already have. 2 things tells me that we might not get extra punishment...1)we handled it the best possible way by conducting our own investigation, presenting our findings, being totally cooperative and self imposing...2) if the committee drops the hammer, I don't think we will just take it and with ole miss being tied to this and the ACT, Pandora's box will be opened
