It would be a real shame if Rod Carey undid all that was built at NIU but it appears things are falling apart in DeKalb. As we all know at UT it takes many years to get back to being a good team versus and average team when things come unwound.

I have reached the point that I believe the the NIU/UT game is cursed to run in streaks regardless of which team is better in any particular year. For many years the streak worked in favor of the Rockets but for the last 6 years it has favored NIU. It seems a bit early but could a breakdown at NIU herald a coming reversal of the streak? I hope so but I will doubt it until the Rockets actually manage to beat NIU----and if this year's team couldn't do it at home, I don't hold out much hope for the immediate future.

It will be interesting to see if guys like Brian Kelly and David Shaw make the jump to the NFL. That will open a few major college jobs and some shuffling could start up again.
