RE: Rank the AAC after Week 6
Putting a 3-loss ECU team ahead of undefeated Temple is pretty close to insanity... I'm not bent out of shape, but that's a real homer opinion.

Context: vs current #8 Florida in one of the toughest road environments in the nation, and a 4-2 BYU team 2500 miles away on the road as well that has wins over a ranked Boise and Nebraska and almost beat top 20 UCLA. You really think any team in the AAC wouldn't have some losses with our schedule?

We lost to both #8 Florida and BYU by 1 TD and had the ball last with a chance to win, hell in the redzone vs Florida. If anything these losses actually make me feel BETTER about our team than any sort of negative. They are quality losses that actually show we aren't that far off. Teams aren't putting the kind of points on Florida and BYU we did, we got a quality win vs Virginia Tech and we beat SMU down on the road.

Quote:And navy has beat colgate, uconn, air force & ecu.... and a blownout loss to ND...

Navy wins about 9 games every year and have a Senior QB that's one of the best players they've ever had. I wouldn't have put them there at this point but it's not hard to believe they are the best team.

Quote:you know what you cant ignore 28-20 versus towson..an fcs that had a bad record last year and is currently 2-3 this year

Yep with losses to ECU and JMU. We were running the most conservative offense imaginable with our rookie QB and OC in their first games ever. We gave #8 Florida all they could handle in the swamp the next week too. What's your point.

ecu over an undefeated temple with the leagues best win?

the real question is how not so

Not trying to argue about Temple's rank, but penn state is no more impressive than VT or Louisville

Lets revisit this when the seasons over

Or next week when penn stats gets beat by a vastly overrated ohio state

yea, that kicked the crap out of your best win...

Did you watch the game?

Tulsa struggling yesterday against a sub-par team, six games into the season, was a bit unsettling. How can I be ripped for that?

We beat Charlotte 37-3? How'd you guys do against Towson who has similar talent as Charlotte?

I watched your game. The majority of the game was representative of the score. It is just a one week ranking. Jeesh...I've always liked Temple. Just an opinion and it doesn't have to mirror yours or pesik's to be rational.

IMO, Towson has FAR better talent...or maybe it is coaching...than Charlotte even though FCS to FBS.

The fact that you are judging a team on a game that was played in a downpour for the entire game tells me all I need to know about your football knowledge... Wasn't the excuse last year when ECU lost to Temple "well it was raining and that levels the talent gap"...blah blah blah...

Lol. ECU isn't allowed to use that as an excuse but Temple is? I only have the last couple of games to tell me where I think a team may be trending. Why get bent out of shape over something you don't agree with? Who the hell cares?

I never said that the rain didn't help Temple last year...it definitely did...The big difference is ECU lost and used it as an excuse. Temple won by 34 pts and I am saying without the rain, they margin would have been much larger.

this game will be interesting....ohio state barely beat Indiana and i mean barely....PSU just blew them out with ease

You do realize BYU was playing with their true freshman for most of the second half because the starter was injured? I'd put UC above ECU, remember you guys almost got beaten by Towson. Close losses are great but y'all aren't winning which is the most important thing.

UH, Navy, Memphis, Temple
Cincinnati
ECU
UCONN, USF, Tulsa
Tulane, SMU
UCF

1) your context point isa reason to believe ecu is very good team..it isnt one to justify putting them over an undefeated team

2) like i said navy is still top 4 in my book, but at this point in the season the resume doesnt stack up, and the loss removes the benefit of the doubt factor

3) my towson point is apex is trying to downgrade Temple for temple's 37-3 win over Charlotte to boost ecu....everyone with sense is like didnt ecu struggles with a bad fcs teams, where do you have room to criticize someone elses wins

Actually for 2 drives but OK.

Saying Towson almost best us is pretty laughable. The game was never really in doubt

If you're trying to knock us for a game we won by 34 in a downpour, you're trying too hard to troll. I don't think Towson has any NFL players. Charlotte has 2.

The BYU back up QB threw 5 passes the entire game. Hey but that's "most" of the second half you know.

PSU doubled indianna's total offense numbers

i didint watch the game technically live. i watched espn college live that rotated between numerous games...blowout might be stroong..but PSU won with ease..hackenberg was even trending nationally during the game about "him being back" and some joke about hackenberg the dual threat

What they do have is about half the team that was just in the FCS national championship game 2 years ago and 5 or 6 FBS transfers that were added this year.

We played the most vanilla game imaginable vs them. We were just trying to get our new QB broke in. If we really wanted to throw the playbook at them we could have probably scored 45.

It was 19-7 the whole second half, and it would've been closer, but Indiana kept shooting themselves in the foot.

The top 4 teams have to go head-to-head before we can see any real separation - any one of them is interchangeable. (Yes, Navy lost but it was at ND)

This thread should be renamed ECU excuses....You're not in the top 4 in any shape or form. Summers or Kemp...get over it. You have THREE loses....quit spinning...Navy made you look silly and BYU ate you alive with an average QB and scrub RB.
