Chimprules is a total Slappytard
Still trying to make the case that CMU lost this game, shot themselves in the foot, etc. I contend that the only thing that kept this from being a lopsided blowout was Westerns sloppy play in the red zone. Don't drop passes inside the ten, don't get penalties inside the 5 and this game could have easily been 42-17 with one minute gone in the 3rd.
First touchdown was scored by Braverman 43 yard pass play. I'm guessing Braverman is just better than the guys he was being defended by. 7-0
Rushs pass picked at the 50 yard line. Drive starts at the CMU 38 yard line. Drive gets to the CMU 13 yard line. Cory Davis drops a pass right in his hands at the 5 yard line. Haldeman misses a 30 yard field goal. Could have been 14-0 and at worst 10-0 with only six minutes gone in the game.
Western gets the ball back again starting at their 25 yard line and drive to the chips 8 yard line. Settle for a field goal . Could have easily been 21-0 with two minutes left in the quarter.
CMU scores on a 78 yard drive.
With 25 seconds gone in the second quarter Phillips takes a kick 67 yards and three plays later western scores again. So with slightly over one quarter gone by it could've easily been 28-7.
Central goes the link to the field and scores.
Western takes the ball gets to the central 14 yard line where they throw a pass that takes them to the 5 yard line 1st down. Franklin is called for an unsportsmanlike conduct's moving the ball back to the 29. Western gets to the 14 and kicks a field goal. If they don't get the penalty the score could easily have been 35-14.
CMU gets a safety.
WMU gets the ball back with 3:36 to go and scores again with 32 seconds left on the clock.
So if WMU DOESNT MAKE MISTAKES and capitalizes on all of those plays inside of your 15 yard line the score could've been 42-16 at half.

Yep, everyone can play the "what if" game and make excuses. But we won an entertaining and hard-fought game. Time to look towards Athens and prepare our next victory.

There was little bit of both IMO (WMU not capitalizing and CMU making boneheaded mental mistakes).
At the end of the day, they kind of evened out and the result was a tight game.

Will want to keep a close eye on the clock operator down there. WMU was on the correct side of time yesterday.

This thread is hilarious. All about the Chimp errors and phantom missed calls.
"Braverman's runs were good, but they were aided by a bunch of holds that weren't called."
The kid runs a 4.4 40. You can't expect those heavy legged Enos recruits to catch him with their blazing 4.8 speed.

You are so right, ChipDip. During one of Bravermans runs he hit top gear and for about 12 yards all I saw was a blur. He was on his own 48, transformed into a blur, and reappeared in the physical world some where around the Chimps 35 with all the defenders 5 yards back. Scary fast.
