Travel to Elon...It Matters
We had a ton of people at SMU and a ton at Towson yesterday. I'm not good at predicting attendance. It was loud and it felt like a home game. I think it was more than 1,000 as a guess. The players fed off of the energy from us. I'm heading to Elon and we need 1,000-1,500 to buy tickets in the JMU section and cheer this team on.

RE: Travel to Elon...It Matters
I have friends in Raleigh I haven't visited in a while, so I'm thinking I'm in for the trip as well.

Anyone been to Elon before? Any guidance on what section would be the "JMU" section?

Wow, announced attendance was only 8k. If we had 1500, then that's almost 20 percent of the crowd. Good job dukes

I may be wrong on our number of fans. Our section was full and there were pockets of purple in other parts of the stadium.

Never been to Elon but JMU still has some of their allotment left. I just went and checked they are $20 in section 111 and Stubhub is the same price but on the other side of the stadium.

Section 101 had 544 seats in it. And it was full, there may have been some spill over into 102 above their band. Plus whatever pockets of purple you saw.

It seems that Towson is fixated in putting their band right next to us, which irritates me and also irritates the band. It's a distraction. We were also punished by watching them dress and undress multiple times throughout the warm day. Methinks the band ought to be next to the student section.

On to Elon, we will be part of the purple invasion. I'm actually looking forward to Rt. 29 after traversing 2 beltways , I 95 and I 66 yesterday.

Go Dukes!

One of you "insiders" tell Alger I'll buy his ticket if he sits next to me.

I haven't been to a game there but have driven through their campus twice, in 08' and this past May. Stopped to take a look at their atadium both times. Say what you want about Elon, but no track and real grass in my book is always better than a track and fake grass. Listed 11250k capacity, + looks like fans can sit on the sloped grass hill off each end zone. Really is a nice looking stadium for a I-AA private..

Looks awesome....I wonder what the capacity will actually be this weekend. I doubt it will be that full.

Since UD went to turf a few years back, the only 2 CAA still playing on real grass are I believe URI and Elon. When was the last time JMU played on real grass? Last played at URI in 2012'..

Even though it is their HC, yeah, I doubt its close to that full. That pick was probably back around 09' when they were good or maybe versus App State.

Elon had a good program a while back. 3 straight winning seasons 07'-09'. 09' playoffs. Since has been all downhill:
09' 9-3 playoffs lost 1st round to eventual NC RU.
10' 6-5
11' 5-6 (new HC)
12' 3-8
13' 2-10
14' 1-11 (new HC)

UR had 2 RBs with over 100 yards each and their QB threw at will. No team has stopped JMU's offense yet and we may be back in the 700 yard range again on Sat. This is a very focused team. This has 60 points written all over it.

Should be a bit of a homecoming for Vad and I would expect him to have a large contingency of family and friends in town. Hopefully he plays up for this game and the Dukes win it easily.

Good catch. The "eventual" should have said "defending". RU was #1 in the nation for much of that season. Were a #4 seed & were upset by App State in the qtrfinals at RU.

They usually send one to the FBS game & another away game depending on schedule.
