Forgive me a little, was at the game for the first half with two little ones and listened on te radio for 2nd half. Fill in the gaps...

QB-A

Apparently he's feeling healthy? What's that stat line look line in the QBR rating?

RB-A

ACRB do ACRB. But today was the celebration of this board's Jordan Huff dreams. Now that we know it's about the other things, not talent related, that we're keeping him off the field we need this kid to get right. He's a difference maker.

WR-A

Great balance...that's what we've been hoping for. Look at the boxscore! KG the thoroughbred. Used CAnada, Duecee and Beebe exactly how we'd like. One note, I know TLL is not 100% but I think you need to give his touches to Duecee at this point. My hope is he can pull an Akeem Daniels and provide a veteran spark in bug November games.

OL-A

When everything else above is an A...hogmolly's deserve their due.

TE-B

I like the heavier dose of Wimann. Love the option read pop pass...wish we used it more. I think Des just gets a token penalty just for giggles at this point.

DL-C+

Clearly missed Ford on the pass rush. Hope that's a one week deal.

LB-B-

Didn't really key in but seemed solid.

DB-C-

Lurry is the man...that said he needs to get more consistent. Logan draws a lot criticism and rightfully so...but remember we are letting him chase their stud week in and out. Williams was a tough task...that said he's not been the SR all-Mac performer we need him to be. I wouldn't mind seeing more Smalls.

Coaching-A-

I thought the game plan and play calling was great.

The secondary was not good yesterday. To me it seems like the defense plays to the level of the competition. They get really hyped for games against BC and OSU and play lights out. Games against unlv and balls state they give up 30 or more points. Would like to see them more consistent from here on out.

You can't underestimate the importance of the flow and ethos of a game. We know what we are capable of on defense, but seems like we are either in a dog fight or a shootout...very jekyl and Hyde.

My hope is that we can get into whatever kind of game it calls for vs the tough teams left on our schedule and we can count on our D for a big stop or turnover.

We got almost no pass rush without blitzing (their OL often picked up the blitz well too) and even then their young QB still scrambled and made plays. It was definitely a good performance by a true freshman QB.

He set an NIU record with 90.6 completion percentage. What a performance!

Drew Hare is our QB and i am happy with that!

Also I heard Lindo say that their 5 OL are all redshirt junior or seniors. You could definitely see it was a solid group.

Neal...Lembo has a guy to build around for sure.

Coverage was actually pretty solid for most of the game. Neal was getting the ball in extremely tight windows and extending plays. Very difficult to ask dbs to maintain blanket coverage for as long as some of those plays lasted...

Neal=very, very good

29-32, 363 yards, 2 td's and 0 interceptions and QBR is only 95.3? How is the QBR calculated and what is the highest you can have?

Wow. That's crazy good. Good for him to come back after last weeks game and make up for it. Offense had good balance all game with the run/pass.

Congrats to Hare and the O-line. They were both great yesterday after enduring a lot of criticism from us in the peanut gallery over the past few weeks. That was the first time this year the O-line looked like a typical dominant NIU O-line. The sky's the limit if they continue to play like that.

Deucee Turner was phenomenal too, please get him the ball more. It is shocking how little we've gotten out of Tommylee this year, he must still be banged up. Imagine if we can get him going.

Their qb was good and had 400 yds passing. We missed Ford and qb was too good to not put pressure on him. But the defense held them to 110 yards on the ground (3.1 avg) and they were running the ball pretty well before the game. Leading rusher, Green, had 415 yards rushing for a 6.5 avg. coming into the game and the D held him to 34 yds on 11 carries. So our run D is still pretty stout. Just have to work on getting more pressure on the qb.

NIU1981, I have to say, if you were satisfied with the offensive performance vs CMU, then man oh man your standards are low. Hare was battling through some injuries and the coaching staff finally used the middle of the field this week, great to see

I think the bigger issue was the lack of a pass rush. Not having Perez Ford, the experience of Ball States line, were key in giving the BSU QB time to make throws. I think if we would've applied some pressure, Ball State wouldn't have been as successful offensively.

We need Perez Ford back for Toledo. I look for the Huskies to put together a pass rush for Toledo, THE HARD WAY!

I don't think Toledo will move the ball up and down the field against NIU, what I worry about with Toledo is that defense, not sure NIU will be able to do much against it on the road.

It's on a scale from 0-100, with 50 being average. It rated as the 5th best game for a qb this week and the 43rd best game for a qb for the season (using raw QBR)

Special Teams - C
Another kickoff out of bounds. It is good that they don't use Orne on kickoffs but can't NIU recruit a kicker that can make it to the end zone without a 30 mph behind his back.
Was it a legit penalty on Turner's return?
Forget rushing the punter and please try for a return.
