Huff, Logan etc.
Jordan Huff is good. I, along with many people on this board, have been yearning for him to get more carries. The more he plays the more he shows he should get the majority of the carries. ACRB isn't too bad. He is reliable, almost always gets at least a few yards, but he looks like is running under water. Ideally they give ACRB a few more carries than Huff in the first half to wear defenses down and then let Huff take off in the second half. I also think they should run Huff off the edge a little more.

I have seen enough of Toast Logan. It's been stated numerous times on various threads. That guy kills the team every game. Time for him to take permanent seat on the bench. The fact he was All-MAC seems like some weird practical joke. I would say Maxwell should get comfy right next team, but he at least has some redeeming value. Desroy gets called for penalties almost as often as Toast Logan gets burnt or called for PI. At least Maxwell plays well when he isn't getting whistled for something, though.

Turner and Lurry continue to impress. Both are big time playmakers. Lurry needs to be a little more consistent from play to play, but it seems you can count on him for several big plays every game.

Also, for everyone lauding the improvement in play calling today should take note that quality of competition has huge impact on results. What seemed like bad calls or poor execution in the losses have a lot to do with how good the opponents; players, similarly the perceiving improvements today have much to do with a team with far less talent on D than the Huskies have seen since Murray St.

One more thing, NIU is going to have their hands full with this Neal kid from BSU. 3 more years of that guy. For a Freshman he seemed really poised, talented, and makes good decisions. I see some nice Lurry/Neal showdowns the next couple of years.

On the post game radio interview, when asked about Huff's "coming out party", Carey was quick to say Huff needs to do a better job preparing during the week. Finally some insight into why seemingly Huff has been in Carey's doghouse.

Figured that there had to be something. I think coaches are careful not to reward guys who don't put the expected amount of work in, despite possibly being better than people playing ahead of them. Sends the wrong message to the other hundred or so guys on the team. Makes sense. I just wish the dude would get his sh!t together during the week because I think he is a game changer.

It's up to his position coach to get on him. Lot of potential big plays are not realized with Huff only getting limited carries. Huff is a threat to take it the distance. Bougie has not been a threat all year and he's been a workhorse...

Well, Huff was just noted on College Football Final for the TD run where he bounced off a few guys and hammered one of them. Joey Galloway said "A little bit of Leonard Fournette in that run"

Never let Turner leave the field. He's the best playmaker on the field

Neal is a talented QB. I was really impressed with his skill set and decision making. He's certainly an upgrade from Milas and will only get better.

Golladay, Beebe, and Turner are the 3 best WR's on the team at this point.

RE: Huff, Logan etc.
Similar to how it worked with Stingily getting a good # of carries and wearing down the D, then letting Jazz or Lynch take advantage of it and get bigger yards, that's how this should continue to go with ACRB and Huff. ACRB had 150 yards yesterday, he's pretty good guys, and gets the tough stuff between the tackles. Huff should continue to get 10 - 15ish touches to break it open, maybe more.

This doesn't need to be a 1 dog show. The RB's haven't been the problem all year.

Really, a player that avg, 7.7 ypc for the year; 8.7 for this game and mind you only on 10 carries. Can someone please explain, how come the coaches can get Joel so prepared to carry the rock 31 times and Huff prepared to carry ten (10) damn times. Carey is not telling the truth. That kid needs to be on the damn field!!!

Lets be honest, Huff had shown nothing all year before yesterday. Nothing. He had one nice run in garbage time against Murray State and that was it. I completely agree he has the look and talent to be good, but you have to earn your reps. I imagine he'll get a bigger workload next week.

RE: Huff, Logan etc.
With 9:15 left in the 4th (just re-watched it on espn), Huff took a first down carry, made 2 guys miss and was dragged down from behind for 18 yards.

Haven't had someone who can make moves like that in a while.

Disclaimer: I am in no way, shape or form related to Mofo and have not been compensated by Mofo and/or the Huff family for this or any any positive comments I've made about Jordan Huff.

He has talent but before yesterday it looks like he didn't care. Please work your tail off and live up to the great potential you have.

Neither did Bouagnon. Huff also showed flashes in his few carries last year. He runs through gaps that Bouagnon either doesn't see or can't get to because he isn't fast enough. Even on the garbage time TD that Huff got, I'm not sure Bouagnon is fast enough to get in the endzone. Bouagnon is good at falling forward for a couple yards and he's solid, but it's very difficult to move down the field running for 3-4 yards each time.

+1

Bouagnon & Huff have different skill sets. We need them both to be successful.

Carries between the two Saturday were 31 vs 10. I'd like to see something closer to 25 to 15 next week. ( Assuming Huff "prepares" himself.)

Huff not being "prepared:" sounds like BS. Bouagnon is SLOW. He is strong, powerful. He should NOT be a "featured" back.

Lets see more of Huff and see what we have.
