He didn't want to face WKU on Thursday. Can you blame him?

He wasn't fired... He effectively resigned minutes into the first quarter of today's game.

The AD Rick VillarreL should have fired at the same time. If I was the president of UNT I would have escorted both of them out of the stadium and off campus at halftime.

I will always be grateful for our 2014 HOD bowl winning season, but he has let our program fall to unprecedented lows, and this change was desperately needed. Our athletic director needs to be fired too.

No excuse for what happened today. Hopefully you get the right guy in there. Great recruiting area, facilities.

Good for UNT. The year before last it looked like he had something good going in Denton... It's unreal how much UNT has regressed since then. With the location and new stadium UNT should be able to attract a solid coach. Hopefully he doesn't have a big buyout.

Any idea who UNT will look at?

RE: Dan McCarney fired
Thank God a change was made immediately. The coach had lost the team. Players were tweeting messages this week about the locker room disfunction. Our school was primed for a loss to Portland State. But, what we saw today was was a team that had completely given up.

Apologies to our CUSA brethren for the performance this season, especially today. There is no reason for us not to be competitive in football. However, it took a performance like today to ensure that a coaching change would be made, when our coach signed a new 5-year contract in 2014. So, today's game was a positive in some weird way. I know that USM fans can probably relate.

Our season is lost. But hopefully, the interim coach can at least rally the players enough to give their full effort the rest of the season. I don't want to single out players on the team. But, there are immediate changes that can be made and should have been made long ago.

I would not be surprised if more firings were to occur before this is all over. But, this one had to happen immediately.

We will get this turned around. There are too many positives in Denton right now to continue to play football at this level.

Cheers

Gary Patterson should be available if TCU loses to Kansas State. He'd be a good pick up for y'all.

What exactly happened there? I thought he came in there and turned things around for you guys. That team a couple of years ago was really good. What went wrong?
