Houston looked beatable vs SMU
Houston won 49-28 but if until SMU started turning it over they were winning and controlling the game.

With games against Tulane, UCF and Vanderbilt. There's a decent chance Houston will be 8-0 and ranked before our game with them November 7th. Bring it! This one will be a 65-64 type game.

Thought the same thing. We should get more stops than SMU. Will be a close game and we will need the breaks to win.

Don't forget, though. The AAC will be officiating it. Outlook = not so hot. 03-banghead

Unfortunately there is something to this.

RE: Houston looked beatable vs SMU
Houston is certainly beatable. Not to take anything away from their 5-0 start but here's who they've played thus far:

Tenn Tech Won 52-24
@Louisville Won 34-31
Texas State Won 59-14
@Tulsa Won 38-24
SMU Won 49-28

Not exactly a power schedule and the combined record of these teams (not including FCS Tenn Tech) is 6-13.

By comparison Bearcat losses right now are both 1 possession, despite bad turnover issues, to teams that are a combined 10-0. Things maybe not as bad as everyone acted.

...and yet they still count as losses. You can also argue that it came down to one possession to beat (or not to lose to) Miami, OH. We'll have to wait and see how the season plays out before rendering final judgments but your point is worth noting.
