If you are having to reach back 18 years to say that you're good.....well.....

I answered your question.

Point made!

The POINT was that it was so long ago that none of your players remembered. So much for that high academic ranking.

That wasn't the point, read your question again. Now if you are talking about recent success then you are correct. Our last bowl game was 2 years ago. However, when was the last time you had success before your current coach? I'll tell you, Porter was 3-21 before he was let go.

As far as academic ranking - VERY PROUD! Isn't that why kids go to college. What kind of lame statement is that? Our academic ranking has nothing to do with our on field success, it's been the administrations lack of commitment.

Re-read my initial statement. I said none of your players remember the last time Tulane was good. That is a true statement. You answered with the remark about the undefeated season...which proved my point as it was in 1998. As far as Porter. Yep, worst coach Memphis has ever had. Still beat Tulane.

We went to a bowl game a couple of years ago. I think the players will remember that!!!'

Television exposure through the AAC and recruiting are taking Tulane to the next level. Looking forward next week to having our way with Houston!

There's a Tulane fan on Gotula.net who suggests Sean Payton for their next HC. A Tulane fan really needs to tell him that other NFL teams are expected to reach out to Payton after the season for their open HC vacancy. There is zero point zero percent chance he would go to Tulane.

As a Tulane alumni we suck in football. We need a new AD and dump CJ our coach. Our basketball, men's and women's ,and baseball programs are on the way to be the best in the nation.

Oh sure, remember, they had a single win against Memphis' worst team in 15 years. (don't worry, Memphis still won the rematch).

The addition of Tulane was the tipping point that caused half the conference to leave.

The Catholic 7 were already negotiating. Pitt, Syracuse, BC and West Vir already left. The model was unsustainable. It was football vs basketball and 4 of the biggest players already left. If the Catholic 7 really felt that way then why did they ALL vote yes.

My son goes to Syracuse and they still count Georgetown as their major rival. They are trying to get a rivalry with Duke, but it's just not the same.

Guess that was Tulane's fault also.

Get over it and stop leaning on that as a crutch. The Big East was dead. Without the CUSA defectors y'all would have never gotten your payout and would be CUSA light.

No worries from me, I'm glad they are gone. Any fan that watched hybrid conference after hybrid conference fail is also glad they left.

It was a good and necessary divorce, or broken engagement, or whatever. (And good luck to you guys against Ole Miss.)

Come up with an article, ANY article, that states what I bolded. The one you posted in the Tulane game thread said nothing about your alleged truth.

Here ya go!!,!,!,!,! From the mothership.

http://espn.go.com/mens-college-basketba...basketball

That article doesn't say what you say it does. The "early discussions" "before the schools left the [then] Big East" took place between Louisville and Rutgers leaving (And Tulane entering) and the official split.

That said, it was Louisville leaving, and the increasing clarity that the Marinatto/Tagliabue-designed Aresco-led conference wasn't going to get a big TV deal, not Tulane coming in.
