Nope, sorry, that award goes to Georgia.
Au contraire, the Vols beat a great Georgia team this year. A truly great Georgia team.

As I will be hearing from my Knoxville relations shortly.

I'm looking forward to hearing that as well. Hell, I think this Georgia team COULD have played in the NFL this year.

LOL

TCU has played better teams and housed some of them.

The year Appalachian State won at Michigan, they lost twice in conference, were lucky to make the FCS playoffs and even luckier to survive the first round game against James Madison.

And losing to a team that is usually in the lower half of the FCS who were not known as a winning power FCS school to boot. The last big FCS beat down of an FBS team if you do not include the lost that a Patriot League and an Ivy League schools lost was when North Texas State beating New Mexico State back in the 1980s when North Texas was FCS at the time of a score of 58-0.

NMSU and UNT played twice with UNT in I-AA
1982 UNT 19 NMSU 30
1983 UNT 49 NMSU 3
Of course most of the players seeing action for UNT had been recruited while they were I-A.

The 1983 score is what I am talking about. The bigger score was when an Ivy League team that lost to an FCS school back in that time period. Since Ivy League schools and Patriot League schools are not FBS anymore.

At that point, I seriously reevaluate who my friends are and possibly disavow any prior knowledge of their existence, to boot.

Sure, they should. Of course, I'm just waxing nostalgic for the day that a TCU/K-State match would have resulted in a 14-10 dogfight.01-swc

So, I'm going to stare at the UF-Mizzou recap and hit the sack with that on my mind.

Are they done giving Oregon votes now? Hopefully, they're just not good this year.

At least Portland State did not put 92 points in a shutout win like Lenoir-Rhyne did last night. Lenoir played University of Faith. The game, the win and stats do not count anyways.

Michigan is playing defense like they're a team from the early 20th century. It's absurb how good they are. They're a Boston College with offense.

Harbaugh isn't a coach, he is a Psychologist considering how he has gotten into the heads of these kids. The team is still a Hoke recruited team yet it is playing like an entirely different team.

well one beautiful thing about Hoke with regards to Harbaugh is they look at the game pretty similarly. Lets just say it'd have been a lot harder transition for Harbaugh if he had directly taken over after RichRod.

RE: This Week In Schadenfreude -- Week 6
amazing stat about Michigan right now..... They are the #2 team in the country in MOV(with wins capped at 30 points per game). Only team better than them- Baylor.

And want to hear something else pretty amazing. Who is #4? Ohio St(even with them just toying with their opponents). Talk about perception not being necessarily reality. 18.2 ppg.

My top 4 is this.

#1 Baylor
#2 Ohio State
#3 Utah
#4 Florida

#5 LSU
#6 Michigan

This is how I see it. The winner of the LSU vs Florida game next week will solidify themselves in the top four. I am sitting on the edge of my seat waiting for the new poll to see where Michigan is put. I still think Utah will get knocked off at some point. ASU is now firing on all cylinders. The Utah game at Tempe next week is another big game that could affect the top.

In regards to Baylor? I think they are the only standout team this year in the league. The meat of their schedule is coming up though, so we shall see.

I don't disagree with the psychologist aspect, but I would add teacher. The biggest differences in the Michigan squad this year and those of recent years are fundamentals and technique. They play assignment football, play as a unit, and think through the progressions of the play that is unfolding before them. That's what football is supposed to be about. It's not 11 athletes reacting and doing their own thing.
