After resigning ABL Finals MVP Chris McNealy Jackson is the second import player from the championship team to stay in Oberwart. Jackson played his first year as a pro last season having a rocky start at the beginning but improved throughout the season. He led the league in steals at 2.3 per game and posted averages of 12.6 ppg, 3.3 apg and 3.2 rpg. Jackson shot 41.7% FG, 31% from 3PT range and 82% from the line. He was selcted to play in the ABL All Star game and was voted Eurobasket All Austrian 2nd team as well as All Defensive team."

and a couple of months ago...
"25-year old point guard Derek Jackson (185-PG-91, agency: Mansfield and Associates) had an amazing evening in the last round for league's best team Oberwart and receives a Eurobasket.com Player of the Week award for round 21.
He had the game-high 32 points adding two assists for Oberwart in his team's victory, helping them to beat Wels (#4, 10-8) 80-72. The game was between two of the league's top four teams. It allowed Oberwart to consolidate first place in the Austrian league. Oberwart have a solid 15-3 record. In the team's last game Jackson had a remarkable five three-pointers out of 7 attempts. It's his second year at Oberwart and it's hard to imagine this team without him. Kent State University graduate has very impressive stats this year. Jackson is in league's top in points (8th best: 16.6ppg), assists (5th best: 5.2apg) and averages solid 2.7spg,59.7% FGP and 40.8% from behind 3-point line."

Chris Ortiz is playing in Cypress, for Michelin Etha Engomis Nicosia, in Division A. 12.2 ppg, 5.2 rpg. They're 4-16 for the season

"Michelin Etha Engomis Nicosia (Division A) agreed terms with 23-year old American (has also Puerto Rican passport) forward Christopher Ortiz (203-102kg-93). Ortiz just graduated from Kent State University (NCAA). He has played there for the last four years. In 32 games he had 7.8ppg and 5.5rpg last season.
As mentioned above Ortiz is just out of the college and it will be his first season as a pro.
The list of the past achievements is quite long as among others his team made it to the MAC Tournament Semifinals in 2013. Ortiz was also voted Latinbasket.com All-FIBA Americas U18 Championships Honorable Mention back in 2010 at his college time.
Ortiz represented Puerto Rico at the HS New York City Championship five years ago.
On Ortiz: Chris Ortiz is really athletic, and he is stronger and weighs more than he looks. He is a guy who brings some toughness to the defensive end. He brings a length and athleticism to the four spot. Chris is a shot-blocker. He is a rebounder. He finishes great in transition. He can shoot it."

Jay Youngblood is playing in Byblos in Lebanon...21ppg, 5.7 rpg.. Byblos was 16-8 this season.

"Experienced Naturalized American Shooting guard Jasmon Youngblood (195-SG-84) put on an extraordinary performance in the last round for league's second-best Byblos and that's him to receive a Usbasket.com Player of the Week award for round 8.
The 32-year old shooting guard had the game-high 36 points adding four rebounds and two assists for Byblos in his team's victory, helping them to beat Louaize (#3, 5-3) 83-71. The game was between two of the league's top four teams. Byblos maintains the 2nd position in Lebanese Pepsi LBL. They would have been even better if they did not have these two lost games earlier in Regular Season. Byblos will need more victories to improve their 6-2 record. In the team's last game Youngblood had a remarkable 83.3% from 2-point range and got five three-pointers out of 10 attempts. He has many years of experience at Byblos, through which he has constantly improved. Kent State University graduate has very impressive stats this year. Haminn Quaintance...

"Saigon Heat (VBA) inked 32-year old American forward Haminn Quaintance (203-85, college: Kent State). He played most recently at Al Ahli in Bahrain Premier League. Quaintance also played that season for Sitra Club (also in Premier League).

In 2009 (a year after he left the college) Quaintance was drafted by Reno Bighorns (D-League) in second round (26th overall).
The former Kent State standout is in his ninth season in pro basketball.
Among other achievements Quaintance's team made it to the Bahrain Cup final in 2015. He was selected to Icelandic League All-Star Game back in 2013.

Quaintance is a very experienced player. He has quite traveled the world as his pro career brought him to ten different countries on five different continents (Europe, Asia, Australia, Africa and of course North America). Quaintance has played previously professionally in Australia (Frankston Blues), Finland (Kauhajoen Karhu), Germany (BBC Bayreuth), Israel (Hapoel Kfar Saba and Ironi Kiryat Ata), Japan (Dragonflies), Morocco (IRT Tanger), Saudi Arabia (Al Qadisiya), Iceland (Skallagrimur) and D-League (Rio Grande Valley Vipers).

His game is described as: A scorer who can play with his back to the basket, put the ball on the floor or face up and hit the mid-range jumper. A well-rounded and athletic forward who fills up the stat sheet: he scores, rebounds, gets assists, steals and blocked shots. He can guard several positions well and can defend out on the perimeter or in the paint. He was a dominant player in Israel in 2008-09 when he finished third in the league in rebounding (8.8 rpg). He lost a season to injury but came back and dominated in Australian SEABL in 2011 (19.3 ppg, 10.5 rpg). He is an unusually gifted passer for a frontcourt player and he is very unselfish. He can be deployed successfully in the high post or low post."

"American K.K. Simmons (191-G-93) had a very impressive game in the last round for Licher Baeren and that's him to receive a Eurobasket.com ProB Player of the Week award for round 10.
The 23-year old guard had the game-high 30 points for Licher Baeren as his team lost the game against Karlsruhe BG (#5, 6-4) 79-94. Licher Baeren moved-up to the 7th position in their group in German ProB. Licher Baeren is a typical solid league team placed somewhere in the middle or a little bit lower in the standings.
