Tailgating Lots
Can people still park/tailgate in the old LA Tan building on Lincoln? Will be up with a group of 12-14.

That was always a favorite. They have plans of developing it, but no construction yet I don't think. You probably won't know until you do a game day drive-by.

Yeah...drove by & noticed at last home game it was pretty crowded there about noonish. (230 game)

If you could also take a sledgehammer and start knocking that eyesore down...that'd be great.

Thanks in advance .

That would be a great location for them. Hopefully though they demo the old building first.

I was wondering if Burger King would ever move there and dump the old dump that hasn't changed in 20+ years.

I think the paper said it is going to be subdivided into three lots, one being a Popeye's, one to be determined, and the third being stormwater detention for the other two.

Anybody remember what restaurant that was originally? I can't recall the name.

I remember it being Lazers, the no alcohol night club. Yea, that sure worked out...

Burger King just did a tear downand rebuild on their existing property. The Popeyes should be open next summer. It will be a tear down of the existing building. Anyone remember when there was a mobile home park at that location?

When I was a student I remember a "5 for $5" sign painted on the window. I wondered if it was a makeshift Arby's that had already closed down.

No one collects money for the LA tan lot either, it's free parking if you get there before it fills up.

Its still private property. Whoever owns that land has the right to have every vehicle towed away that parks there if they wanted.

Remember when the Hardees on the corner had a ball pit that the drunks would frequent after a trip to the bars-lol; What did the old L.A. Tan building used to be?

Today, The Old Man told me it was originally a Sirloin Stockade, which he said was a chain. I barely remember going there as a kid. Sounds like the Hungry Heifer to me...
