Very bad indeed for Mr Quave. Recovery for this is 9-12 months. So no post-season senior games, no NFL combines, etc. Hopefully if he can get healthy he will have a chance down the road.

Quave should apply for a medical redshirt. The NCAA has become extremely liberal when it comes to handing those out.

They didn't give Orakpo one. He went down 1st quarter of our 2nd game last season.

Orakpo didn't even apply for one. He said in his statement to the fans that he had been told his chances of being granted a medical redshirt were slim to none.

Quave is also a 5th year senior... They don't normally grant those...Robinson was granted another year because he was a true senior

I don't believe in players as employees or non-amateur college athletes....but these medical rules are awful. A player, IMO, should never lose out on appearances over a legitimate injury sustained while competing if reasonable allowance can be made.

Does the NCAA grant medical hardships or is it the conference office? I thought it was the latter, though I could be wrong, I often am.

That sucks man. Not often do you see players who have started every game in their career, and I'm sure he was an impact player on that line.

We lost our power back (Nutall) last night to a season ending injury. He's a 5th year and missed his Junior campaign to academic issues. I doubt he gets one.

My computer, which is held together by bubble gum and bailing wire, was acting up last night and I could hardly catch any of the game....just in bits and pieces. So it was kinda hard to keep up with the flow so to speak.

I saw this comment this morning though which surprised me:
