RE: Week 5 - KSU @ Toledo
You have no chance to win when you cannot throw the ball. I said this a couple of weeks ago and knew Reardon was bad, but on the broadcast today they said he has the 5th worst completion percentage in football. It is hard to fathom we have nobody better on our roster than him.

The defense was exposed seriously today. Does anyone see another win on our schedule? I don't.

Week 5 - KSU @ Toledo
Toledo is a much better team than anyone on our schedule. Plus, our defense could have held our offense scoreless today, too. Not a good barometer. Got to give the freshman a chance to play QB some more.

I think they have one more win in them. Then everyone can talk about our building blocks and how tough our defense is going to be with starters coming back. Then we will win 4 games next yr. Haynes will get fired and we will start again.

I agree. We've had decent defenses for many years but have had very few playmakers on the offense. IMO, Archers One year was a fluke so you have to go back to the Cribbs and Edelman to find a KSU offensive star. Yon just can't win without playmakers, especially at QB. I think Reardon is a good young man but he may be the worst QB we've had in 15-20 years. Simply atrocious throwing the ball. It looks like he might be masking an injury. Hell' I'm 57 and can throw better than what I saw from Reardon in the 1st half today...

What's worse about that completion percent is he doesn't take chances down field. If you're going to be throwing underneath all day you'd think you could have a decent completion percent. It's time to let Bollas start. He didn't look great yesterday but he looked OK. He gets out and runs better than Reardon as well. I feel like that's part of Reardon's game that has deteriorated since his freshman year.

RE: Week 5 - KSU @ Toledo
I want that duel threat Cleveland freshman to just ride out the season. We have no WRs so we need a QB who can make plays with his feet when someone isn't wide open. Worst case scenario is we continue to lose in a season we are already 2-4 in, he gains experience and familiarity, and next year our offense shouldn't be as inept.

Best case scenario we beat UMASS, lose to BG and win out to finish 7-5 and I get to go to another bowl game!

Also I got so excited when Davonte James transferred to Kent, why has he been MIA this year?

I'm sure you are a fine gentleman but there is NO WAY IN HELL that this football team wins 5 of their last 6 games. BG and OU will pummel them!

BG yes OU is not as sure. The big reason is that OU with Solich at the helm has had a really hard time beating us even when his teams are good and our team is not.

Also they so far do not look that much better than us and that should tell us something. They played a competitive game with Minnesota (well we did that) and beat Marshal at home (though not badly) where we barely lost at home. Idaho is not comparable to Illinois and we both handled our FCS teams handily.

Not saying that OU would not be favored, they will be, but I think there is a fair chance at winning against them.

RE: Week 5 - KSU @ Toledo
BG is a terrible matchup for us because it will take a lot of scoring to beat them. Their defense is a bit suspect, but our offense is more so.

Other than that, though, we have a decent chance against everyone else if our Minnesota-Miami-Marshall-DelSt. Flashes show up and not the Ill-Toledo Flashes.

This week will be telling. Can they get refocused and put forth the kind of team effort we saw in the 4 good games? The Flashes were overmatched last week and then just got deflated as the game went on. Very similar to the opener.

The optimist in me wants to believe we could win 5 of the last six. The realist says we will have a letdown game or two. But I don't see the teams left on our schedule being all that formidable save for BG. I'm hoping we'll go 3-3, which would be an acceptable, for this year's team, 4-4 in the MAC. But as of now, we wouldn't be favored in any remaining game, so we need to find out who we are. I think we are better than 1-7, which would be a disaster. We need to beat UB, Akron, and UMass. OU hasn't really impressed me very much in any of their games. I think CMU is better and BG is the class of the East and probably the 2nd best team in the MAC.

Let's start with a road win Saturday, OK?

Very well said and I agree wholeheartedly. Even in my dream scenario we still get thumped by BG. I still think we need a qb that can do damage with his legs when needed since our wr core is what it is, and if some people say there's no way in hell we'll be bowl eligible this year anyway (which is the realistic, totally rational thing to think) then we may as well start getting that dude up to speed. Nothing against the Aurora guy, I'm glad the Reardon experiment is hopefully finished, I just wish the duel threat kid was getting peppered in instead.

Regardless of Aurora kid or Cleveland kid taking snaps, I truly believe our offense will not look any worse than it has under Reardon.

Anyone know if a starting QB has been named for tomorrow?
