Cubs at Pirates, Winner take on Cards
Who you got?

I know the Cubs are the more popular pick but I am going to go with the Pirates playing at home (53-28 at home) to win despite Arrieta pitching.

RE: Cubs at Pirates, Winner take on Cards
The Cubs have got a lot of press for Arietta pitching. He's been incredible the last half of the season. That said so has the Pirates pitcher Gerrit Cole. I think the Pirates scratch out like a 2-1 win tonight in a classic, National League style game. That is bunting, moving the few runners that get on base over, lot's of 'nibbling' pitches, first base tossovers, mound visits, plus the many other strategies that make NL ball intense.

I am just glad the Cards don't have to play in the wild card game although I think sometimes the winner of that game has some momentum going. Yeah, if they get more than 4 runs between the teams tonight I would be surprised.

Never go against the best pitcher in baseball no matter where the game is at...arrieta is just unreal.

Bryant could win NL Rookie of the Year without being best rookie on his own team Schwarber is a Hoss. If he had been up all season we would be watching a Cardinal/Pirate game tonight.

Yeah, I know. I saw Bryant playing for the Iowa Cubs vs the Redbirds in April. My wife and her family are from Illinois. The next week is not going to be pleasant. Geez, should be seeded on overall win percentage.

It's crazy how well he's pitched. He was awful in Baltimore. Then again, maybe thats just the difference in pitching in the NL vs AL.

Anyway, I'm pulling for the Cubs for no other reasons than my sister in law in a Cubs fan and I've picked on her for so long about them, hope she gets to see them win one and because it would be awesome for "Back to the Future" to be have been correct.

As long as it's not Toronto.

At Baltimore his mechanics were not that great and he had a habit of falling behind the count early on which is not good...he's basically is a late bloomer which worked out for the cubs..

I think the cards win in 5,cubs just don't have good enough pitching right now...if we get price in the off season and with more maturity from the youngsters then I'll pick them as the favs to win it all next year.
