The Ottawa. Swan Creek would get to you boatgaiting closer to UTMC than main campus.

Oh, a barge! A nice flat bottom boat with a 3 inch draft. Eh, let's see, water is 62.4 lb's per ft^3, need 200 lbs per person plus 50 for BBQ grill and food, so every 3in by 1ft by 4ft=62.4. Yep, could do this. A couple logs, a pole stick and someone singing Songs of the South would be a great Ottawa River tail-gait.
