Comcast/Xfinity is the most sure way we've seen, but Directv also carries it "sometimes".

RE: Watch party for Rice vs FAU
There has been zero interest in a watch party for this game in ATL. I'm in touch with the local West Point club in my area to see about a joint watch party for that contest and the interest so far is lukewarm at best.
Hope the Owls can win, though.[/i]

Comcast Xfinity 121.
I must need to call Comcast. I have the channel (121), but when I try to watch it, the screen is black. I may need the "sports package," but I thought that I already had it. I'm dying to see this game.

There's a separate sports package that includes channel 121 and others. I just added it to our subscription for $9.95 per month.
Cable really is outrageously expensive - if I wasn't so lazy I would investigate some of the alternatives that have become available recently.

I appreciate the information. I must need to upgrade to the next level sports package. Cable really is out of control. Sometimes I think I should get an antenna, enjoy my 10-12 stations, and just be done with it all. It's highway robbery and my Comcast box is always breaking. I feel like a chump.

RE: Watch party for Rice vs FAU
Sports and News are really the last barrier to getting rid of cable and going with all streaming sources. If you think about it, at ~$100/month for cable($1200 per year), that can buy you alot of online subscriptions, even if you want to strictly stay out of the grey areas of streaming. Netflix streaming for $10/month, Hulu membership for similar, Vudu for video on demand at prices a couple dollars less than cable VOD, and now the ability to buy HBO Go separately, along with ala carte seasonal show subscriptions at around ~$1.99 per episode. $1200 buys a whole lot of TV watching, except for sports and news, though the NFL and NBA All-Access packages would both also fit within the budget.

$1200/yr pays for a lot of trips to the sport bar.

There are so many options out there now that I don't even know about, and that I'm just too lazy to look into. I do think that everything will be pay-per-view someday though. If you want to watch a specific game, you'll pay about $5 to do so.

I was there at 12:30 or so. Two tables for Rice in a sea of Notre Dame. I realize that being a Rice fan means being outnumbered mightily whether at home or on the road. Just makes no sense to me to wade thru South Bend for this game in a Rice Village bar two blocks from campus.

Sigh. Surely this lack of fan enthusiasm/economic impact is a big reason why we've been kicked to the curb in every conference realignment.
