Question of the Day
I like to torture myself & rewatch games (mainly because people pay me to do it)

Does a punter automatically get cut after having a -3 yard punt? 03-banghead03-banghead

I feel like that needs to happen

RE: Question of the Day
I'm kind of giving the new punter the benefit of doubt. I think he's averaging at least 40 yards per punt. But the couple miss handled punts he's had and at least two shanked punts. That's not good. He's got to get better.

The sad part is every opponent we play has a kicker who can kickoff into the endzone. Our's routinely kicks out of the sidelines or comes short of the endzone. Then he's missed PATs and gimme FGs.

It seems like we have not been able to kick into the end zone for a few years now (at least without the wind). Not sure if that's by design and Carey has supreme confidence in ST.

If Carey had confidence in our ST, he wouldn't be telling the kicker to kick it out of bounds on purpose.

It's a good strategy to use cause our kickoff coverage is no bueno. But our kicker is also no bueno at executing it & keeping it in play

No. A punter is cut when it's -5 yards. I think that's the MAC rule. It's a self-inflicted 5 yard penalty when he punts so poorly for -3 yards.

If/when a punter punts for -10 yards, it is a MAC conference rule that he is to then be bent over and made fun of by the opposing team's mascot. If said mascot is not present, opposing team's female cheerleader does NOT count, but opposing male cheerleader does.
