Looks like another beautiful day in the Valley. Can not wait for the home opener on Sept 9!!

You're so excited about Dhall, I think you'll sneak into the construction site haha

Brian - just round up and yellow vest and a hardhat and nobody will notice.

I think it would work. It's science.

Potomac and ChicagoDuke

You are both right I would love to walk through the construction site. Just love to build things and watch things being built. When the subdivision where I live now was being built 25 years ago my house was the first one done. Spent many hours on my morning walks looking through all the houses as they went up. Have the hard hat just need to find a vest!!!!

91alum Interesting article, gotta find a vest!!

Can't wait for opening day, been too long since me and the wife made a trip to the valley!!

RE: D-Hub
Been nice to get a couple of looks at D Hall during the past two weekends while sitting in BFS. Looks like the side facing BFS (opposite camera side) is not quite as far along as the camera side. In any case the place is looking great!!

My younger daughter (2015) was sad about D Hall being torn down as she said she had so many great memories of being in D Hall. Imagine a lot of other alumni feel the same way!!!

D-Hall 2.0 starting to show off a little on the webcam now that a lot of the scaffold has come down and erected on the other side of the building. Beautiful day in the Valley today.

RE: D-Hub
I was wondering how they were going to enough supplies for all that Buffalo Mash they'll be able to produce now. This makes a lot more sense...

"Bison cull in Yellowstone nearing 1,000 for 2017....

Both hunters and the slaughter operation have reaped the benefits of this year’s large migration. Andrea Jones, a spokeswoman for Montana Fish, Wildlife and Parks, said hunters from five tribal nations and some licensed through the state have confirmed the take of 417 bison this winter.

Wallen said roughly 650 bison have been caught for slaughter so far and about 400 have been shipped, an average of roughly 100 per week since the beginning of February. That means they are approaching the goal, and since more shipments are scheduled and capture for slaughter is scheduled to run through March, they may reach a point where the work can stop.

“We’re going to have to make some hard decisions,” Wallen said.

Shipping bison to slaughter has long been controversial, and some of the most outspoken critics of the practice watched it happen Wednesday. Once the trucks full of bison left, the spectators were back on the tour bus. They watched from inside the bus as a vintage Chevrolet Blazer and four rangers on horseback lined up behind a corral full of bison."

Took a quick look at D Hall cam this afternoon. Doesn't look like much going on camera side wise. Sure plenty of work happening on the other side.

RE: D-Hub
A lot of the big stuff is done Camera-side. The roof membrane is going down on the flat part of the 1st story, glass trim work to finish up, some precast pieces to cap out the bluestone work, and 1st story entrance work. Bluestone is done on the Commons side except the mid-section of the clocktower. Bluestone continues on the two Bluestone Drive sides of the building, and most of the glass is installed too. Drywall finishing happening inside.

Is the road going past the D-Hall open or did they close it for construction?

It's open, that's the only way to get through campus!

Looks like they are working on some steps and sidewalks on the camera side of D Hall.

Anything interesting on the non camera side?

RE: D-Hub
same thing... and bluestone still. The opposite side exterior was the last side to conclude.

I'm thinking they'll have DHall (or West Campus Dining hall, as Dining Services is trying to call it) completed from the outside by Commencement weekend, with the fences down and landscaping done, and have some interior finishes to complete throughout the summer.
