UCFs issues with an objective eye.
I have had the opportunity to calm down...yeah right.

Anyway, I watched the game until the half against Tulane one more time last night. Knowing the outcome, I was able to calm down and see what the players were doing. Here is what I saw:

The D line, they are bigger than Tulane's OL, yet they are being stood up and pushed back consistently 3-5 yards. (Fundamentals seriously Lacking; coaching)

I am seeing multiple attempts of single arm tackles vs wrapping up up players. (Fundamentals; Coaching)

#40 LB Burkett is getting burned a lot, he is either in the wrong position or he is just slow.

Tulane's 1st TD, the entire secondary let one guy get behind them, either the DC gave them the wrong defense or they didn't pay attention to their assignments. I lean to the latter (inexperience)

Lots of flags on special teams killing gained yardage (inexperience)

Offense:

#27 doesn't recognize when a hole just isn't there and cut back against the grain, he had a couple easy cuts to open holes to the left or right of his primary hole, but didn't see them.

Bo had several collapsed pockets, all he had to do was step forward to escape the pressure. What happened, he got scared and crumbled or stepped backwards away from the pressure into the pile getting grabbed and sacked. He also had several open lanes in front of him to pick up 3-5 yards setting up the next down. He held onto the ball and either was sacked or threw to double coverage. (Inexperience; coaching). He needs to work on his footwork and speed drills)

That is just from the 1st quarter.

There should have been a targeting call on Tulane for the hit on Taj, clear leading with the crown of the helmet. It was a hit to the side of his head. I would conduct a concussion protocol on him, it was nasty looking.

OL;

#66 & 75 are both terrible, the line busted through on them multiple times leading to tackles for a loss, sacks or hurried throws.

#75 was burned so bad leading to a sack, the guy was past him before he even got up out if his stance. He is straight garbage, coincidentally #66 let his guy get by him on that sack as well, which is why it was a two man sack.

I couldn't watch more, it was late.

A lot of people don't belong in the field. They either downright suck or the coaching sucks and are not making them better.

UCFs issues with an objective eye.
On that clip you showed he was supposed to be pulling on that play. He either didn't sustain the block long enough or the running back missed his blocking assignment

It's all on the OLine play, which is frustrating considering our OC used to play and coach OLine.

I hope next season, with a medical redshirt for this one.

To his credit, mtmedlin did say he didn't like Bresnahan bc of the lack of fundamentals they showed while he was there. This far into the season I'd have to agree with his assessment.

Meltdowns like UCF fans are rare. It's disturbing. You know you should look away but you just can't out of morbid curiosity

Per GOL, Holman was taking snaps at practice today.

If he's not 100% I don't see the point of rushing him back.

It's really a stunning one year decline. It seems unlikely but could the AD job be getting in the way?

This rebuild will take 4-5 years and GOL needs to be no part of it.

Did GOL just stop recruiting? A college coach knows that he only has a few good years with a player and Florida is one of the big football areas in the nation, so I'm surprised at the talent gap between last year and this year that has apparently been created at UCF.

I do not understand the UCF fans on 'that other board' that are so fearful of change.

Look how this season is turning out, there are a lot of coaches that can suck like this for a lot less money

The fanbase needs a change and GOL is too stubborn to step down on his own.

I don't get it either. Houston fired their coach with a winning record and a bowl win, they're doing just fine now.

No but we had three nfl players leave as juniors last year and two the year before. Sanctions caught up to us and we have had 14 starters injured. We have 3 and 4 stars but they are. freshman. Heck we had a walk on playing receiver and two converts. The receiving core, starting center (played third string last week), qb, rb, dt, safety..... Etc have all been injured. We had two more last week and a 54 man roster. We have some young stars and we play diamond in the rough recruiting strategies. This means you have less room for misses. With a 54 man team it shows in the depth.

They will all be back and 100% healthy by the time the ECU game gets here.

We were near full health week 1 and lost to FIU, I wouldn't lose any sleep over a "healthy" UCF team this year.
