I think if they're practicing in the main arena and you stroll in, sit up in the stands, and keep your mouth shut, and don't talk to the players, you'll be allright. I try to be like the invisible man.

I plan to make it, and if I do, I'll give a report. Only the positives. If there happens to be anything negative, it won't be reported here. The other day was all positive, and I assume this practice will be the same.

That's the key. No one has ever bothered me when I have walked in and watched part of a practice. Hard to imagine a coach yelling up to the stands to "get out of here". They are much too focused on what they are doing.

RE: Is basketball practice open to the public?
I went out there today. I was sitting in the arena waiting, and Coach Foley and the women's team came in after 2:30. The men were on the Fisher Court. Coach Foley came over and visited and was very welcoming. The teams had been watching film and didn't get out on the courts until late. The women mostly were working on fundamentals, so I watched for awhile and then went over to watch the men. I was the only fan there, but there was no problem. Michael Neal was standing watching and we visited while watching. He's now the head trainer for the men. Very nice young man.

As for reports, there isn't much to tell from today. But Michael seemed to be excited about Jermaine Rutley, Jalen Jackson, Marques Johnson and others. In the brief scrimmaging I was able to see, Josh looked very good as did some others, including the young Freshman Burns. I think it is easier to see what's going on when they're playing in the main arena. They practice every day at 2:00 P.M. during the week. I'll try and get out there some more when they're doing more scrimmaging which will allow me to give you a better report. I repeat, Coach Beard is a winner. He expects to win now. He's not going to accept mediocrity. He's a pretty fiery guy on the court. I like what I see. Our program is in good hands, IMO.

I saw them use them during one of the limited practices. You should see the players trying to follow up with their shots when they are getting fouled by one of those blocking pads

If I should make it tomorrow, do I have to park across the bridge?

No. Park in the lot closet to the entrance, and enter through the doors at ground level to the right of the steps leading up to the arena.04-cheers
