Senior Leadership????
I am just as frustrated as the next fan and for those that know me you know my background and overwhelming support I have for NIU. I have primarily been critical of the coaches, but as a former teammate pointed out to me on FB, the players need to execute what they are being taught.

The one thing that I see, at least from a distance, is that this team seems to have a lack of senior leadership or leadership in general. There doesnt appear to be anyone grabbing the team and saying enough. Nobody on this team has experienced a 3 game losing streak and this kind of adversity. The players need to rally around themselves and play for each other.

I think the coaches and the players are a bit shell-shocked on what to do next. Carey always preaches that this is "their" team, that leaders need to emerge. I just dont see that this year. I could be wrong, I am not in the locker room or with these guys 24/7, but somebody needs to step up and lead this team, whether its Hare or somebody else.

I know some players are frustrated with the play calling on offense, but when your number is called you need to make that play, despite if you have been targeted once or 100 times.

Dont point the finger except at yourself, rally around each other, play this game together, and remember the fun you have when you play the right way, THE HARD WAY!

Adversity in football and in life is a gut-check and will show if you are going to sink or swim. This season is not over, the MAC West is still out there, take the Ball State game and win, then one game at a time. This season will take care of itself.

As fans, we need to continue to support this team. Show up Saturday and the rest of the season. Im frustrated too, but lets kick the **** out of that arrogant Lembo and the "fighting david lettermans" from Muncie.

See you Saturday!!!

Canada may have been benched for his drops against BC. Just a guess on my part after I didn't see him Saturday.

Hell, they would have needed to bench TLL too then. I think they need Brescacin out there at least part time. Maybe he was banged up?

i was told by someone who views the game from the sideline that in his opinion since the OSU game the team seems to be playing very tight. Sometimes a team loses is direction for a game or two. I expect an up tempo pace Saturday.

Canada was hurt for Saturday. He traveled, but was not dressed in pads. Doesnt sound like a major injury though.

It might very well be, playing two very good defenses in a row before the CMU game. And CMU's defense is not bad either, plus the bad weather.

RE: Senior Leadership????
On TV it looked like TLL was trying to take the leadership role, but maybe its harder for a skilled WR to be that person than it is a linemen or a QB, watching Golladay I feel like he just wants to say "What are you dumba***es doing!" lol, not sure he feels comfortable with that yet.

RE: Senior Leadership????
The leadership component is an important part of any team, but it's always going to be hard for us fans to know if its there or not. If there really is tons of talent on this team and if these coach's have found a way to win before...then certainly part of the problem must be leadership.

To me on TV, it looked like TLL was yelling to the sidelines to get the ball in his hands more.
