You have to be willing to take some chances, if you guess wrong a couple of times and he hits the big play, that's just something you have to be willing to accept. I would rather that happen then Arbuckle sitting in the pocket, and just picking us apart with short to medium passes.

It was sort of frustrating watching us play pretty vanilla against them last season.

We rarely blitzed and didn't put a ton of pressure on Arbuckle. We were also content to leave 2-3 guys standing around 10 yards downfield as GAST sent go route after go route, leaving those 2-3 guys defending empty space.

It's like we were mailing it in on defense and were just anxious to get the ball back since the offense was so dominant.

RE: SBC Week 6 Picks
I hate vanilla defense, I don't care if your playing the passing team in the country, nothing pisses me off more than to see the App defense basically playing prevent defense the entire game, with little or no pressure on the qb. Whats the point, ya you will not give up the long pass, but who cares when they are picking up 10 to 15 yds on almost every pass play throwing the ball underneath the coverage. Fortunately, we haven't seen that defensive game plan since the Liberty game last year.

RE: SBC Week 6 Picks
App State 41 GaSt 28 - App has given up a few long pass plays this year and that's what GaSt does best. I don't see them stopping Apps running game unless they put 9 in the box and App throws good enough to take advantage of that. Panthers will score some points but App will score more.03-nutkick
Texas State 31 ULL 34 - Hard to figure why ULL has looked so bad at times this year and Texas State has played very little defense. Both need this one (true of every Belt game right now) and I expect ULL to do something with the home field.
Troy 10 Miss St 41- Troy a little over matched on the road at a good SEC team.
NMSU 7 Ole Miss 62 - This is really a bad week for NMSU to have to play Ole Miss after their ugly loss last weekend. This will likely get ugly.04-chairshot
ULM 28 Tulsa 27 - Belt needs the OOC win and ULM might be able to pull off the mild upset.
stAte 31 SoAla 28 - Not sure where to go with this pick. Might as well pick the Wolves......

Tulsa: 31, ULM: 28 ULM gets close but no cigar

RE: SBC Week 6 Picks
App: 99 Georgia State: -6 (App state actually scores 15 touchdowns, but the scoreboard only does double digits, so they give Georgia State -6 points to accommodate the difference)

Texas State: 70 UL: 71 (Neither team can stop the other from scoring. The difference is ULL gets ball last and gets a 2 point conversion for the win)

Miss State: 35 Troy: 38 (Miss State is actually up 35-0 at half-time. Being in the SEC, the brainiacs on Miss State think the game is over, leave the stadium and Troy comes roaring back to score 38 unanswered points. The last 3 being from a last second FG from 15 yards out that clanks in off the left upright)

Tulsa: 7 ULM: 21 (This one was easy as the SunBelt is obviously greater than East Carolina and the rest of the AAC)

Ole Miss: 63 NMSU: 3 (Ole Miss admin accidentally left off the "N" on the team schedule and Ole Miss shows up at Mississippi State for the game. Luckily, an AĆ©rospatiale-BAC Concorde passenger jet was available and got the team to the game by the 4th quarter and they were able knock out 63 straight points for the victory before time expired)

Until we play defense an entire game . . . . AND actually stop someone, it's as good a prediction as any. . . .

Well your defense is easy to figure out. Just run it down their throats. Wyoming has nothing like the rushing attack we do.

As for your offense, well that will be interesting.

I hope you believe that. THREE yards per carry.

Clemson vs. App State
44 rushing attempts. 140 yards. 3.2 yards per carry.

Idaho is giving up over SEVEN yards per carry. Wow

Looks like it could be a wet day with temps in the high 40's, low 50's.

I think you're looking at Boone weather. In Atlanta it's suppose to rain, but it will be in the 60's and 70's for most of the day, but it should be a beautiful day indoors (where the game will be played).
