Also, they stuffed us on 3rd and 4th from the 1.

Can't expect to win with the penalties and turnovers.

WOW! I knew it was bad but not that bad! Yes that does say it all and we cannot expect to win with those stats and the 3rd game in a row with the passing stats! Most are making similar observations - come on coaches if we can see it so can you! I mean really; most of the observations are pretty basic things and some are just plain common sense!

I keep asking what happened to Hare? He definitely beat out Maddie last year and played well for the rest of last year and the first 2 games this year. Some observed here (and I agreed) that Hare was making passes in the first 2 games this year that he could not last year. That has nothing to do with the level of competition; he had improved in the off season! So what happened? Hare cannot make the basic passes he was making now! We can talk about the defenses all we want; but come on - in 3 games less than 300 yards 3 picks and 3 fumbles lost and 0 touchdowns! This has to be coaching (including play-calling) resulting in Hare loosing confidence now IMO. And what viable options do the coaches have now? IMO Hare's struggles are a symptom of bigger problems! When the wheels come off the most visible problems are at the QB position.

Carey was obviously frustrated yesterday. If Carey is a good coach he will take steps to fix the problems. Maybe they will work in whole or part or maybe they will not work. But do something more than screaming at the players on the sidelines!

Do you think Matt Macintosh wishes now that he didn't leave? While he may not have initially earned the starting role, he certainly would be considered now.

Drew took a lot of hits in the CMU game. I clearly remember one play when he got hit in the head twice on the same play, one friendly fire hit and a second by a CMU player. He looked dazed and I was surprised at the they did not pull him out of the game.

He is a tough dude and I hope that he does not lose his confidence.

I don't think anyone is disappointed that they aren't playing behind this O-line...

RE: Turnovers
That pass that Rush made to Kroll near the goal line with 3 huskies around the guy Hare would never even attempt. That is frustrating.

I think this week finally highlighted, the offensive line is the reason for all evils of the world motto is dead. The offensive line is probably ranked number 4 on a list of worrisome things. The offensive line was fine on Saturday, outside of the false starts which again come back to how slow NIU is playing.

Turnovers
How can we be this thin at qb with six years of success under our belt. Hare, contrary to previous thought, is no better this year than last. I'd even argue that he's worse. He still can't throw the screen, the WR screen (which he bounced into the ground more often than I can count). And his deep ball is bad. I was hoping for haldi but we got horvath. But with only graham behind him (is little Santa even on the team?) we have little hope for this year or sadly next.

RE: Turnovers
What improvements he made has been undone by this coaching staff. A quarterbacks throwing motion is a lot like a golf swing: Soft and fast. Not violent and hard. He was gripping a wet ball so hard and trying to throw violently, leading to such ugly results -- just like in golf. You can't play quarterback when you're pressing that hard. He wasn't doing that the first two games when we were losing to UNLV and Murray. Thanks coaches!!!

I did not know his hands were that small, he just could not grip the wet ball. I guess this partially explains that double clutching people have always noted on those bubble screens. Not much you can do to change his hand size unfortunately. You could deflate the balls I guess.

What does he have, hands the size of a three year old? Somehow his hands were big enough to throw the ball all through high school and last season in collegiate football. I'm even guessing he has played some games in inclement weather before
