So sad!!!
I will keep it simple. Five things.
1) Offense play calling is awful. Execution not good.
2) Hate fans that are okay with this loss. To me not acceptable.
3) Ball State game will have low low attendance. Casual fans not interested.
4) Cubs are in playoffs.
5) Really need a quarterback in upcoming class who can be a difference maker.

6. CMU had 2 tight ends they threw too. We don't have any we throw too and one of them had 4-5 penalties.

7. We have 5 wr's that are talented and we don't throw to them either.
Game planning for Bob Cole must bet a DC's wet dream...QB power, jet sweep or some read variation, bubble screen, poorly designed run plays, not sure how to call a multiple route passing play...it's like game planning for a game of electric football.

So where did the 25 passes go?

53 carries by ACRB & HARE - unusual for a D-1 team to give the ball that often to such SLOW-W-W-W-W runners.

These fans should not exist.
This is not acceptable.

I'm fine with the ACRB, but yeah, Hare that much is a lot. But I'm guessing a good portion of that is on scrambles on passing plays, right? So you have to look at it a bit that way.
My point was more on the "we have all this talent just get them the ball"...well there were passing plays (probably not enough), and they did nothing with them. The blame has to go all the way around. Galladay/TLL they've been bad the last 2 weeks.

Maybe we, as fans, think higher of our players than reality. I think we have some very good players, but I do think it is natural to elevate the guys on your own team. However, before you all slam me, I think the loss to Ohio State was respectable, the loss to Boston College was upsetting but someone had to lose and they were a good defensive team, but today's loss was bad.
I am hoping for a 2011 like season, but the fact is this: this is now Carey's team. We are at a point where we are seeing if his system and ability works. He has bright spots, but my faith meter did go from an 8.5 down to a solid 6.....

I think the bold is completely spot on. And I think we should be ticked at Carey and questioning him...I just think we should also be putting plenty of the blame on the players as well. And I think we have to realize that maybe the players aren't as great as thought (hope I'm wrong). Now...in the long-term, it all goes back to the coaching/growing/recruiting the players. But I don't think a few "play call changes" make that big of difference today, everyone sucked it up.
Only solution is to get better across the board.

Still not enough touches for Turner or Beebe. I am also sick of come back routes and our guys never have a chance to run after catch. I'm also sick and tired of being sick and tired.

I have never like our pass patterns. Other teams run so many different routes.

Yeah......I have no idea why they are not playing the freshman burners. If you burned their redshirt why not use them? Can't hurt at this point....damn!
"Hey Coach Cole....Coach Carey...." Let me holler at you for a second!" Lolololol

I agree. I really wanted one of the freshmen running backs in the game.

This the Coaching staff I tired to tell y'all they do not know what they are doing. They only trust the ball in the hands of Joel & Hare 53 times, no 19, 22, 23, 84, etc!!!!!!!

I have to agree with this, why blow a red shirt and then not use a player? Sure they might be playing on ST but why not give the freshman backs some carries.
I think that coach Cole could be the biggest problem here. He is not adapting the offense to the talent he has and he is in a rut that he is too stubborn or lacks the creativity to break out of.

BSU should travel well based upon the numbers who turned out in Evanston 2 weeks ago.

RE: So sad!!!
I don't care what plays you call. If the players don't execute a different play is not going to matter. Lot of factors fell into place. No time in the pocket called for quick release throws which on a wet day with a QB who could not hang on to the ball caused problems. Penalties forcing the offense in to 3rd and long. I don't know many coaches that dial up successful plays with 3rd and long. We've had issues catching the ball. There are a lot of issues causing the players to press, over think. They need to get back to assignment football. Patriots "Do your job". I think the lack of success is creeping into the confidence of our offence, which is the scariest thing. We used to be able to play from behind and know we were still in the fight. I hope that is not completely gone, or we are in for a long season.
Even a great defense will not survive and inept O. We're not that deap to play 40 plus min on D.
It's ok to slam coaches. Get pissed that he threw a freshman QB in there. I can also se the flip side if he sticks with hare. Everyone here would have been crying why.
I think the skill level is what it has been. Confidence level not so much. That's what the staff needs to focus on, but it can only be fixed by execution and success. That's on the players.

I think you analysis is the most accurate and sensible. As I said before someone I know who gets on the sideline felt the team is pressing, not playing confident the last 2 weeks, he's not sure why.
