RE: LSU v. EMU
LSU 44 sounds like two schools that "shouldn't be on the same field". EMU 22 sounds like EMU's offense actually should be on the same field as LSU's defense ...
... is LSU's offense perhaps ahead of its defense at this point in the season?
(That would not be surprising, since they no longer play the limited substitution style of football where Fournette would also be playing on defense.)

it was a severe trap type game for LSU. Really their only cakewalk game of the year when you look at the schedule. Their other OOC game is vs Western Kentucky.

RE: LSU v. EMU
SEC schools that don't dominate games like LSU vs EMU simply fell into a trap game where as Big Ten schools that don't dominate are simply proving that they aren't as good as some folk would like to believe. The excuses need to stop, but they wont. LSU has always been known for their defense, not their offense.

I thought today's Michigan game was a trap type game for them quite frankly. 1st week ranked, big game next week with Northwestern(and following week with Sparty). They struggled at first but did ok.

LSU is weird this year...they have the best player and probable Heisman winner. But they're completely one dimensional...

L.S.U. has two conference games coming up. Frequently SEC coaches only pay lip service to these kind of games and they use the week to prepare for the next conference opponent. They figure athleticism alone will prevail, and it did.
When fans get ticked off about these kind of games it's not because they hate lower tier FBS or FCS schools, but rather because they hate games they know are going to be sloppy, ill prepared for, and for which winning gives no reward and playing close or losing hurts. I seriously am in agreement with networks that P5's need to play only other P5's and that we need an upper tier of around 72 schools. That number includes the Cincinnati, Connecticut, B.Y.U., Houston, San Diego State, and Boise's of the world while excluding those who have budgets and athletes that simply can't compete week in and week out with deeper rosters and fathomless budgets.

Yep. I said as much in another thread. Michigan did what good teams do in a blah game away from home. The played just well enough to be ahead at the half. Got their rears kicked during halftime, and came out and finished. Not unlike L.S.U.. But I do agree that L.S.U. is leaning heavily on the run game. But, that's a heckuva game run game to lean on.

I'm not saying it is going to happen, Fournette is pretty *** **** impressive, but if someone does figure out the proper scheme to stop Fournette then what does that do to LSU? Can their QB carry the load or will he fold under that kind of pressure that he isn't used to?
Does that create a blueprint for success for teams to follow in weeks to come? Right now I couldn't possibly say this is going to happen because of how impressive Fournette is but let's see what he does against some of those more impressive SEC West Defensive Lines.

Eastern Michigan is a trap game for Central Michigan, not for LSU.
