Not much doubt about it. Moreover, with the Big 12 under their thumb, they are also powerful. Six years ago, they were national champions and now they are blown out 50-7 by a school which was in the MWC at the time. Hopefully, their influence in the conference is a bit diminished for a while.
I hope so. I see momentum growing for adding Cinci and Memphis on the 247 Baylor pay board. The recent TV game seems to have opened a few eyes that do not follow either school closely. Unlikely that any decision makers post on the 247 boards but hopefully the sentiment for these 2 school additions is growing where it matters. It makes sense from a geography standpoint over say BYU & Boise. Hope the B12 does not make the same mistake they made with Louisville.

Thanks for the Post-Love "BTF" This is an awesome perspective to be in! An "emerging" conference that has tremendous upside; and being profiled to the Nation, where conferences need affiliates to continue "relevance"....
The American is definitely trending UP! Our schools are just as competitive as the ACC now! And NAVY hasn't beat ND yet! Once that happens, The American will be "secretly" (sssshhhhh) garnering "P6" considerations...If the American just added, let's say BYU! that' put the American in a whole different light....ND has to go somewhere to become playoff eligible by winning the Conference Championship as well.....Don't let prior prestige and favoritism fool us....ND needs a conference, and they're ALWAYS going to play NAVY, so why NOT put a BIG ribbon around this game with a NEW Media contract?
We could poach teams from the BIGXII (pending a collapse) or merge into the BIGXII with BYU DAME CINCY/UCF as BIGXII needs 4 teams NOT just 2..... Chucky Strong just happens to be the best thing to happen to the Horns from a "coming down to earth/reality/normalcy circumstance.....UT is hurting and that may free up the narcissistic demeanor that they embody and allow the negotiations to begin for the first SUPER-Conference JMO BTW

What league was Louisville in when Texas hired Charlie Strong?

6 years ago, Texas were not the national champions.....
He may have been referring to the fact they were playing for the national championship?

Big East was a part of the BCS at that time.

I recall 10-15 years back Texas lost at home to an unranked UCLA team 66-3. 1997.
