Terrible OCs for UConn and USF
Every year I watch USF they have tons of great athletes and horrible OCs. News flash Taggert, you need to be able to score more than 10 points per game to win. Against FSU if they could have moved the ball anywhere they could have had a chance. Nice D but they cannot stay out there forever.

Same thing for UConn, very nice D, but at some time u need to score. Something...anything. Watching UConn shut down Mizzou and lose 9-6 was painful. You know there are people out there with good OCs at the FCS level you cou
D steal.
When Levine was here we felt the same way. We hired Bush who took us to 5-7 after a 13-1 season. We hired Meechum, and went 8-5. Then we re-hired Bush who lost to Tulane AND UTSA. If not for Ward working miracles we would have been far worse.
But if you are going to play big-boy football you need to score the ball.

Not sure why you're offended, it's the truth. AAC will be a lot better if those two teams had better offensive Coordinators. They are one good coach away from being competitive. Especially USF, loaded with talent. A win against Florida St and Missouri.. Can you imagine what kind of credibility we would've had as a conference this year. Recruiting will take off next year for a lot of teams.

perspective...uconn is a big 10 team at heart..their AD hires defensive coaches , and they run pro-style offenses

what we considered good offenses arent what uconn is aiming for ...and in comparison to their previous offenses it actually isnt too bad....

uconn is built to win in its ideal form in games like 28-10..uconn fans realize its their qbs first year but overall like the direction of the team.....

also keep in mind for whatever reason uconn fans have been one of the most oversenstive groups in the forum, even about football.....not sure why though

RE: Terrible OCs for UConn and USF
you cant compare our situation to usf... we had quite a few highly regarded QBs when meachum took over okorn, piland, ward, bram, billy, rex..and a few other who we made switch positions
(ps before the piland debates come on he is better than anything on usf that is eligible)

there were qbs to work with

you can blame taggart for that as he has had enough time to bring in a qb but didnt..their current qb line up is a 4star WR who came to usf because they were the only ones who who let him play qb (hs qb stats werent great), a 2 star transfer who was beat out by a true freshmen before the freshmen ever stepped on campus in his old school, and a 2 star true freshmen...that is it
(they have a 4star qb transfer but he is not eligibl yet)

You cant win without a qb, and an OC wont change that

and side note: taggart calls his own plays, switching OC's will do nothing for usf

I believe the issue with USF last night was that Taggart was performing too much of the OC role. USF had success running the ball in the 1st quarter, and then had zero success running the ball. But Taggart kept calling the run plays unti lit was literally too late.

USF's offense looks literally uncoordinated.
