Guys I had a good night.
My daughter was a homecoming attendant. I went to a bar and I cried, I laughed, and then I belly laughed. If you can do those three things a day I think you have had a good day. If I never speak a word of politics again in my life I also will think I have lived a better life. I can honestly say each and everyone of you are "good people". I would even say that to Dr. torch if he was still with us. There was a niner guy many moons ago I would square with again I would wish him well. We are only on this rock for a few years. ENJOY IT! Hug your kids and tell your wife she is the best thing that ever happened to you. God Bless.

RE: Guys I had a good night.
Mach, I lost my mom Thursday night. She was always a larger than life person, until her health began failing. She spent 90 years helping others, and 3 years too ill to be able to continue doing so, and she hated that she could no longer be the person that she used to be. She was ready to go, and for that reason we are very much at peace with it, no matter how much we miss her.

I have to say that what you have shared about Kyra was also an inspiration to me in dealing with my loss. One more life that she has touched.

Owl - sorry about your mom. Mine passed in 2005 when she was 91. She had deteriorated and was ready to go. Same with my dad in 1999. So while in both cases I was almost relived, I still cried & still miss them. The grieving process with tem started years before they left as they started to deteriorate. But was lucky to have them in my life as long as I did.

However my oldest sister died in 1990, and my sister who was a year older than me passed in 1994. They were both sudden and was a different grief an different grieving period. In both cases watching the impact on my parents made my grieving harder.

It's sad when people lose someone. Only time will heal.

Sorry for everyone's loss. I lost my father, and 3 out of 4 grandparents. Soon, it will be just my mom. After that, my brothers and I will be the oldest within our part of the family.

RE: Guys I had a good night.
Well, since we are sharing....

On 09/09 around 9am I unexpectedly lost a very close friend and mentor to a brain aneurysm. A few hours later around 11am, Mach shared with us about Kyra. At 3pm that same day, a friend and colleague was hit by a bus and is still in a coma today.

I've had better days.

Im very sorry for your loss Owl. I have no doubt your mom was a great person. Im sure that she had a giant impact on your life and the person your are. My wife and I are very lucky to have all our parents with us. All 4 are in their mid 80's and I have to admit at times they are a handful to deal with..especially my dad..who is slowly creeping into dementia. I know we have a lot of unpleasant things coming. It weighs on me quite a bit. I hope I am a strong enough person to deal with the inevitable. Thanks to both you and Mach for sharing. It had made me stop and ponder a lot of things in my life.
