Penalties and Turnovers
Seems like nobody wants to discuss, despite the 4-0 start, our propensity for committing (lots) of dumb penalties and fumbling issues.
I am normally an optimist, but we have to get this cleaned up, heading into the meat of our schedule (OM, Navy, Temple, Houston).
You can rail on the DB's all day, but in my estimation, the difference between a "nice" season and a "great" season, hinges on cleaning up the huge number of penalties and turnovers. Hoping tonight starts a trend of playing "cleaner" football.

RE: Penalties and Turnovers
As far as I can tell we have had 4 lost fumbles this year, so avg. 1 per game. However, 3 of those came against Kansas. I am not sure I am too concerned about that at this point. Penalties I definitely agree with. It seems like we stopped Cincinnati on 3rd down, only to have a penalty called us on that kept the drive alive or at least gave them another shot at 3rd and short... Our defense certainly cannot be giving teams extra opportunities.

Only 4 fumbles?
Hmmm...I stand corrected. Seems like a LOT more. Maybe each one is so traumatic, it "seems" like we've had more?

We might have had more fumbles, it is just 4 fumbles lost. I could only find fumbles lost on ESPN, not total fumbles.
