Guns Kill An Average Of 36 People Every Day
The nation was once again confronted with the horror of a deadly school shooting on Thursday, this time a massacre at a community college in Roseburg, Oregon. A gunman killed at least 10 people and wounded seven before police fatally shot him. It marked the 45th shooting on a school campus this year, according to Everytown for Gun Safety, a group pushing for legislative reforms to reduce gun violence. It was the 142nd shooting at a school since the December 2012 rampage at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Connecticut.

I am agog at the gullibility and willful illiteracy of most American gun control advocates. I’ve thought “this just has to be part of a strategy to rope in the gullible, the badly-informed, the fear-driven, and the intellectual-legends-in-their-own-minds”.

We've tried gun proliferation. Its causing an ever increasing avalanche of violence.

Its time to dial it back. And yes, ending 'no questions asked gun shows' is constitutional.

Stop saying proliferation is a problem, it's really not.

I'll say it; who cares?

I do not.

I find it tragic, but it doesn't concern me or millions of other Americans.

According to the CDC there are 112 suicides in the US every day. You need to think a little deeper rather than spitting out talking points.

I just posted the article for discussion. I have yet to offer my opinion.

I'd imagine a good portion of those 36 deaths per day were criminals committing crimes.

Thank you gang violence normally perpetrated by gang members who illegally purchase firearms.

Are suicides included in those numbers?

The figure is "gun deaths" so I see no reason suicides by gun would be excluded.

They almost always are, and for good reason. Owning firearms does quantitatively affect suicide rates.

Which brings us full circle to the main problem, mental health issues.

Hitler knew how to reduce the mental health issues in Germany!

He also knew how to reduce gun ownership as well.

Looks like we have a solution to both problems. Just vote Hitlary

agreed shifty...

Btw.. I'm just curious .. did they break down their 36 per day number in any shape or form?

We've got cops shooting people, justified.. Is that in the stats? probably (oops, those shouldn't be in there should they? Or is that gun violence stats as well?)

Cops shooting people, unjustified.. unfortunately it happens (That's bad cops not the guns.. but I'll bet their in that 36/day number)

You've got CRIMINALS shooting victims of crimes (again, see the guy that got shot outside of the Cardinals stadium, and people wonder why I avoid downtown st. louis?)

You've got CRIMINALS shooting other criminals with guns. (Again, I point to some of the scenes in my nearby neighborhoods)

We've got idiots shooting idiots... (found a couple of those in one of Tom's article links, where two people got in a stupid fight, and one shot the other).

We've got nutcases just shooting everyone. (See school shootings, Arizona road sniper, DC Snipers, etc.)

Do they count suicides in that 36/day? I saw some of those that got classfied as "gun violence" in a couple of posted articles.. one of tom's articles had listed a number of suicides and were counted as "on campus gun deaths".

Just some that I can think of off the top of my head... There's more to this than just numbers.

1. It's not a mental health issue to the extent that you seem to think.

2. Hitler actually increased gun ownership in Germany to the vast majority of Germans. Stop using bad history.
