RE: FSU-Miami
The world needs Miami to come back - with swagger.
PSU - []_[] was gold before the world learned that the 'Canes were actually the good guys (who would have guessed?)
FSU - []_[] was gold when the two teams actually played each other (Miami's football team hasn't shown up to a game in years)
Nebraska - []_[] was gold when both teams were on. Who would have guessed that the '95 Huskers and the '01 'Canes would live to see their schools where they are today?
ND - []_[] was gold when Miami was the upstart with swagger that you hated to love (or loved to hate), and ND was the goody two shoes that syood for everything that Miami didn't. It was Catholics v Convicts, but given Miami's Catholic population and church scandals, who were the Catholics and who were the convicts?
UF - []_[] was gold back when Florida was too scared to play Miami, and the world knew it.
SU - []_[] was gold for me. I doubt that Miami saw us a rivals, but we hated them - and loved it. When Miami was in town, we had a chance to shock the world, and almost all of Anerica was pulling for us to do so. Those games were fun to watch (unless we were getting murdered)

RE: FSU-Miami
Just look at the ridiculousness of the rivaly. Here is when they were ranked when they played each other:
1987 #3 vs #4
1988 #6 vs #1
1989 #9 vs #2
1990 #9 vs #2
1991 #1 vs #2
1992 #2 vs #3
1993 #1 vs #3
1994 #3 vs #13
1996 #3 vs #6
1999 #1 vs #19
2000 #1 vs #7
2001 #2 vs #16
2002 #1 vs #9
2003 #2 vs #5
2003 #10 vs #9
2004 #4 vs #5
2005 #9 vs #14
2006 #11 vs #10
2010 #13 vs #23
2013 #3 vs #7
Notice how the number of matchups when both were ranked has fallen off dramatically...mostly thanks to Miami. The ACC needs Miami to be good again. I also grew up on this rivalry and attribute it to FSU being my second favorite college football team.

Wide Left II?
Maybe this time it will fall short and they'll call it Wide Short?

RE: FSU-Miami
Eh, I still consider PSU to be the good guys in 1987. The players were steel town kids with blue collar attitudes against the salty swagger and disrespectfulness of Miami. Forget about the coaches, I focus on the players in that game.

Hype is here. We will be ready. Al Golden promises changes for the FSU game, let's see if it happens. I want to stomp FSU into the mud this year, it's been far too long since we won like that. Like some of your fans are saying, be sure to lose so we keep Al Golden. Joke will be on you though. BOO SEMINOLES !!

Is he going to fire himself? Seriously, how does a guy with so much promise & potential just flat out fails? I can only assume it's the sports equivalent of the "Peter Principle".

How is Golden saying there will be changes different than any other post-/pre-game press conference?

FSU opened as 8.5-point favorites. It's now up to 9.5-points. A little generous, or no?

I wouldn't say so. Neither team has looked great this year, but FSU has definitely looked better than UM. I hope it'll be closer than 10 points, we'll have to wait and see.

Miami losing to Cincy really hurt this game. If Miami had crushed them like they were supposed to, we'd be looking at a smaller spread.

If that had happened, GameDay would be in Tallahassee this weekend instead of Utah.

Yep!!! :) :) :) (The Cincy game only partly broke me)
But like I said in the other thread, Al Golden is cursed. Good thing GameDay isn't in Tally.

I keep waiting for the FSU offense to start clicking....I think Cook is hurt.
I actually think this game is going to be close....Miami has played better opponents and is more tuned up IMO
