Okay. There's a reason BYU didn't put up numbers until late in the game. Good game though. Congrats on the win. UCONN offense got to put points up to win these games that our defense is giving us a chance to win.

And not kick the football into the stands when you're about to get the ball back late in the game, only trailing by 7...

Actually the rivalry with the AAC has been fun. I'm disappointed that it looks like BYU and AAC aren't doing to play as much in the future.

Horses?
Horses are eligible to play college football now?
It's hard to keep up with all of these rule changes. Thanks for the heads up.

RE: *** UCONN @ BYU Official Game Thread ***
Here's the takeaways from this game: BYU won this game because they executed in the fourth quarter. UConn is younger, smaller, playing past midnight on a short week in elevation... doesn't help. If East Carolina or Cincinnati is going to beat BYU, they have to get in front and make BYU play from behind. BYU finishes games well (unless they are already "finished" like the Michigan game). UConn "caught some breaks" but also didn't allow BYU to score TDs when they could.. opposite the Navy game where Navy capped every drive with 6. BYU will be tougher for Cincy and ECU because they will be more rested (not coming off being bludgeoned by Michigan.. and being home for awhile).... plus the QB is still learning there. He recovered from his mistakes late. I wouldn't be surprised if ECU and Cincy lose by nearly identical scores that UConn did (lest we forget UConn was actually winning this game in the 3rd quarter). I'll emphasize again, critical to get a lead on BYU for both teams. I worry a bit about ECU matching up with them on pass defense (granted ECU has been better than expected so far on pass yardage). Cincinnati needs to avoid a track meet and come up with early stops.
UConn desperately needs a bye week. They were gassed at the end of the week and the triple of @Missouri, Navy, BYU has them totally worn down. Sherriffs had his worst quarter of football in the 4th quarter. It was like he was possessed by Boyle. It's disappointing because without the turnovers and asinine onside-kick, the score would have been a lot more representative of the first three quarters of play. I could see UCF turning things around pretty quickly against UConn and giving them a pretty ugly loss. I think UConn's offense will definitely be more conservative this game (not to the Tulane/USF style from last season...) One positive is that UConn seemed to fix their kicking problems. I mean, the onside kick was well executed other than one guy not looking where he should have... it was stupid to give BYU short field though.

The onside kick wasn't the problem at all. Like you said, it was well-executed and unexpected. UCONN should have made the recovery. If you remember, that was the drive, where one of UCONN's team captains kicked the football into the stands to give BYU a first down when they were about to punt it back to the Huskies. UCONN trailed by only a touchdown and would have had a chance to tie late in the game. That dumb incident and Sheriffs' 4th quarter Boyles impersonation were the biggest reasons for the loss.
