RE: Should Gunner get "Pipped"?
I'm perfectly fine with whoever gets the start. Love both QB's. I definitely agree that Moore looks more comfortable back there. If they are going to keep it complex for Gunner with how good these WR's are, then I'd go with Moore as well. Like I said before there is absolutely zero need for a complex playbook when your WR's are so much more talented than the DB's they are going up against, which will be the case the rest of the season.

RE: Should Gunner get "Pipped"?
I think one of the announcers Thursday night made this comment, and to an extent I agree. Continuity at quarterback is important. Even if from a talent and production point of view they were dead even, or Gunner slightly ahead, I think I would lean towards Moore at this point because history has shown that Gunner has a hard time staying in a game.

Aside from the injuries. Kiel became too careless with the ball this year.

I think that's apples to oranges. You're comparing a junior to a freshman. Moore has gotten better every week and protects the football much better than Kiel. He'll take a sack instead of throwing a desperation throw into double coverage. I really like Gunner, but I think he's scared to death when he's out there and not fully in control of the offense. Moore seems to have ice in his veins and is a competitor.

Well if its apples to oranges to compare a junior to a freshman, what do you call it when you compare 2 games of sample size to a whole season? Not saying I don't like Moore, but I don't think it's an easy decision for us to make...yet.

Don't disagree at all. But, it does seem like Moore has more poise than Kiel. It's reasonable to assume that he won't end up with less poise as he gains experience. I agree though. Jury is still out on him, but I sure like what I see.

What's impressed me is not his poise but his ability to respond to mistakes. His pick against Memphis at the end of the game occured, quite simply, because he got flustered. The majority of that game, however, he had a lot of time to throw. So I'm not neccesarily sold on him being completely comfortable in the face of pressure. However, I have been amazed by how quick he is to respond. It seems like he could turn the ball over 10 times a game and throw just as many touchdowns. Just seems to forget his mistakes. Something that I'm not sure Gunner has done yet.

RE: Should Gunner get "Pipped"?
I'm guessing the staff will go with whoever they think gives us the best chance to win but will have a very capable back-up should things go south. I think if Kiel is the guy, he'll be a better QB knowing that Moore is breathing down his neck. To Marcus' point, they need to put Kiel in 'safer' positions. I liked fake handoff and pop passes to Shaq in the seam this past week. Those got 10-12 yards consistently. With Kiel, I feel like we throw deep, deep and deeper. And we make it more difficult than it should be sometimes. On a 3rd and 4, with Kiel, we'll throw a 12 yard out route from the far hash where Gunner has to throw the ball 40 yards in the air. But if Moore is the guy, he'll have definitely earned it in my book.

As I've said before as well as others, Kiel has too much on his plate IMO. If they'd simplify things for him in this offense like they have for Moore he would likely look really good out there. He's thinking too much instead of just playing football. There is really no need to be overly complex with your playbook and scheme when you have a really good OLine and your WR's are so much more talented than every defensive backfield you go up against.
