Just opened in Owens Field House. Place for recruits and families to meet, hang out and enjoy meals prior to and during the games. During the week serves as an all sports team room featuring one of App's new Nutrition / App Fuel Centers.

Is that Kidd Brewer you see outside the window? Not a criticism but would be nice if they opened the view up, those windows are really small.

The windows are small, but that is the right side of the building not at the stadium. The back wall is facing the stadium parking lot.

We already have a room like this on the meeting room floor (4) of the athletic complex (giant press box). I wonder of this replaced it or if it's just another one.

Odd to spend money on something that's being torn down in the near future.

Looks like mostly furniture and stuff that can be removed rather easily when that time comes to demo Owens.

I thought the same thing when I saw it, why are we spending money in Owens, when its supposedly going to be torn down in the near future? Made me alittle nervous, started to wonder if we would be stuck with Owens for the long haul. Hopefully this is just a 3 or 4 year situation before they demolish the building.

Obviously, this is just a case of putting lipstick on a pig. It does not look like they put any money into structural changes. Its all cosmetic to hold us over until Owens is replaced. All this stuff can be moved into the new place. Pretty smart, it seems to me.

Now, just don't lose and blame it on the new room.

The room was already being used as a team room for other sports. The upgrades were just cosmetics. A little paint, a wrap, some upgraded furniture and few more TV's. This room served as the Yosef Club Room for 30 years so it already had a kitchen and a few other amenities. As I said earlier the new nutrition station has been put in there. Gillin thought it would be a good location to sign in recruits away from all the activity going on inside the Athletics Center. I think it's a heck of a idea.

No need to read more into this than what is going on. Simply a quick, temporary fix.

by what all you guys are saying, it looks like a really smart, relatively inexpensive use of space. Looks like Gillian strikes again, using the most of what he has, without spending a lot of money.

Doug is doing lots of smart inexpensive things around campus. Can't wait to see him tackle a big project.

me too, I cant wait to see what he does when he has the money to tackle our biggest problem, the expansion and renovation of the stadium.
