No. What you mean is that you don't want to talk about the President in comparison, but obviously you brought him up as #3, and we're talking about #1. If you didn't want to talk about #2 or 1, you shouldn't have called him #3.
You brought up the topic of 'unintelligent' comments. You called him #3. We are showing unintelligent comments by #1.
Whether you like it or not, it is absolutely 'on' the very point you want to make.

I still think Webster's gonna get a lot of attention over anyone else in regards to the Speakership position, at least on the Republican side of the aisle.

I'm not referring to the individual, Fit (I think it's a Boehner-Clone and would be a mitigated disaster for republicans). I'm referring to the fact that if this is the "best" they're going to attack him with, they need new attack dogs...

Fewer, not less. One of my pet peeves, especially among those (Levin) who seek to correct others for their grammar.

So is the subject him? Or what he is saying?
If it's what he is saying, comparing what he said to what others above him have said is perfectly legitimate.
If it's him, then comparing his intelligence based on grammar (what you did) to those above him is similarly legitimate.
That's the problem fit, you say this is about 'him', but you aren't taking issue with his policies... but his grammar.
If you want to talk about his policies... then list some of those.
I can correct people's grammar without thinking that they are somehow 'unworthy' as a result of it. Be honest, the biggest reason you don't like him is that he has an ® after his name. If he had a (D), you wouldn't care about his grammar.

I don't have a problem with is policies. I'm talking about his lack of proof reading skills. Like I said, if you watch the videos, he isn't really paying attention to what he is reading but just reading it. I"m guessing that the mistakes are written into whatever he is reading.

What, if anything, do these one-off quotes say about his competence or capability?
I could come up with more errors in a day by anyone who interacts with the public. So could any of us.

What is good for the goose is good for the gander.
I seem to recall much criticize of Obama for reading from teleprompters. Now you have a guy who can't even read properly from notes and it's nothing to see here?

I recall just about every politician from both parties in forever being called out on this. I've always said, going both ways, that it's a stupid criticism.

No, we make fun of Obama when he DIDN'T read from teleprompters and tries off the cuff remarks.. at least we know that USUALLY the TOTUS has the correct words and verbiage on it all times :)
I have no problem with making fun of this guy when he makes goofy statements, but to say he's "incompetent", as the title of this thread implies (and I have no idea what Rachel Maddow says, cause I don't watch her even in on-line clips if i can avoid it) for the lack of a better word) because of that... hell, we might as well just mark everyone of us as incompetent for everyjob out there.
