Agree with this assessment. Even for Texas State fans, that's a far drive. It's like 900 miles away.

In retrospect, NYC is 900 miles away from Statesboro, GA.

What about the Austin Bowl?

I know the western teams were begging for a bowl in the West but it s still a good ways away from most western teams. I know beggars can't be choosers but Austin would have been a great fit.

Any word on the Charleston bowl and an SBC tie-in? If they get the Medal of Honor bowl then I can't see the league having less than 12 teams so either NMSU and Idaho are safe and / or they plan to expand more.

Not sure how having Idaho or NMSU helps bowl tie ins since they are never bowl eligible.

4 Sun Belt Bowls this year should be OK but it's looking like we may have 5 or 6 next season so our teams will really need to step it up.

`Just a SWAG, but my guess is SB will be primary backup if teams are not available forever how long CUSA and MWC signed the contract for. Looks very likely the MWC will not be able to fill this year's slot.
