Yeah, we need to drop the Central Connecticut game and pick up another winnable G5 game. Preferably closer to our main fanbase (App St, ODU, Navy, East Carolina, Marshall, Ga Southern, etc). Keep the Morehead game so the team has a game to work the kinks out (I'm thinking our first game without Vad is going to have some kinks). These kind of games do so much more for our school than beating up on lower-tier FCS, including getting the attention of recruits looking at those G5 schools.

Who would our QB be? Will we get another transfer?

I have no inside information, but based on the lack of PT for the backup QBs vs Morehead, Lafayette and Albany, I think that we are going to try to go the transfer route again.

RE: 2016 Football Recruits - Post SMU
Different perspective: Could the lack of PT also be part of a bid to pad the stats for a Payton Award or strengthen a bid for a NFL combine invitation or other NFL tryout?
Hard to say. Against Morehead the backup looked solid and didn't miss a step from Vad Lee. Of course, that was against Morehead St.

This question reminded me that I saw this in the ESPN comments section for our Lehigh game a couple weeks ago. It is pure speculation, but here is what the guy said:
Quote:Benjamin Paul Reed
I met Henry Vu in Washington yesterday. Says he is transferring to James Madison as a QB. Best of luck to him, whenever he does end up playing.
He's from Portland, OR, and I have zero evidence that this is true, but if it is true, here he is

Zero chance!!! Haha I don't know where Henry vu plays now but if you check the twittersphere, there is a certain UNC QB buried on the depth chart that is interested in a lot of JMU stuff. Former 4 star recruit w offers from Md, the U, mich st., VT, UVA just to name a few.

I'm not twitter literate, but I can see a certain QB who went to Lake Braddock that fits that description.

He is also following Drew Mehringer way back in his following list.

LOL - Lehigh. For some reason, I always mix Lehigh up with Lafayette.

PP
That is probably because Lehigh is in Bethlehem and Lafayette is in Easton, adjacent towns!!
Friend of mine from way back when started at Lehigh and finished at Lafayette, easy transfer!!

Agree, CCU does us absolutely no good from any perspective. Navy is all but impossible to schedule since they now have a full AAC slate plus annual OOC games with Air Force, Army, and ND.

Yes, please! He looks like a perfect fit to me.
His Dad was his High School OC, and if you watch his Highlight reel, they ran the same offense at LB that JMU runs right now.

RE: 2016 Football Recruits - Post SMU
When you look at last week's depth chart, we only have 4 offensive seniors (o-line - Lane and Richards; TE Cheatham and QB Lee). Just 2 defensive seniors (d-line - Mosley and Gates) with OLB Jacques subbing in.
Although all those seniors are valuable contributors, the only irreplaceable player that we don't have someone comparable replacing him is Lee. It's probably too late for the 2016 recruiting class, so I'd think we'd have to look for a QB transfer to really reach the potential of the rest of the team in 2016.

Win a NC and watch good things happen - anything is possible (except FBS lol). Any parent should want their son to come play for a man like Everette Withers. I just hope we can keep him for a while.
