RE: 2016 Football Recruits - Post SMU
I absolutely agree we should not rely on the transfer QB on an annual basis. It's too unpredictable and can't get them engrained in the team chemistry all the time. I just think the way this has played out with a few de-commits, it might be a necessity next year. Not saying any of the current backups aren't capable (I honestly just haven't seen enough of them to know) and I know we tentatively have 2 freshman coming in, but I think we'd be in some trouble if we expected either of the true freshman to start next year.
I think if the coaches are not comfortable with our QB options, then they will look for some competition, but otherwise, they will stand pat with who they recruited.

Thornton?
Nope. What I heard is that Fraiser isn't happy he got redshirted and is shopping around. He got offered by just about everyone though, so I still think my friend may have combined Fraiser not being happy with Thornton looking at JMU. At this point, I would say there's no chance... Just saying that rumors like this are popping up more and more with EW at the helm.

After watching DJ Daniels' Hudl film from the first half of his senior year, he looks pretty impressive. Definitely looks faster. It's very hard to judge on where he is as a QB because most plays guys are open by 15-20 yards. I know it's not ideal to start a true freshman, but I think he has a chance or at least he'll get a chance.

2016 Football Recruits - Post SMU
Completely ridiculous rumor about Frazier. The kid is currently injured, he missed a lot of camp because his mother was sick and he knew that there were other rbs in front of him (Dayes, Samuels, Gallespie and Thornton who has now been dismissed) . He's not leaving State when he'll be starting next year when Dayes goes pro and if he (Frazier) gets in shape.

This question reminded me that I saw this in the ESPN comments section for our Lehigh game a couple weeks ago. It is pure speculation, but here is what the guy said:
Quote:Benjamin Paul Reed
I met Henry Vu in Washington yesterday. Says he is transferring to James Madison as a QB. Best of luck to him, whenever he does end up playing.
He's from Portland, OR, and I have zero evidence that this is true, but if it is true, here he is
Zero chance!!! Haha I don't know where Henry vu plays now but if you check the twittersphere, there is a certain UNC QB buried on the depth chart that is interested in a lot of JMU stuff. Former 4 star recruit w offers from Md, the U, mich st., VT, UVA just to name a few.
I'm not twitter literate, but I can see a certain QB who went to Lake Braddock that fits that description.
Take this as you will, but last year his girlfriend (who goes to JMU) told me if he is not starting at UNC by his sophomore year that he is going to transfer here
