That they had beaten at least one decent team (Georgia Southern).

That's far more than ECU can say at this point.

Not that I buy into Sagarin ratings, but it is a metric and doesn't even come close to supporting your point.

You don't buy it yet you are using it to make your point?

I know football and last year Georgia Southern would have went through the AAC like a tornado through a trailer park. This year they might have trouble with Houston because of offensive style but neutral field it would be a fairly even matchup. We have history to show us that ECU simply has no clue how to stop an option offense so they would be assured of at least one AAC win each year.

But if you want to continue this discussion of other conferences I suggest you create a thread on the realignment board. This is the ACC board where we discuss ACC teams. Not the junior league teams like ECU.

Because I don't think Georgia Southern would beat Houston, Memphis, Cincy, Navy, Temple, or ECU this year.

I know Georgia Southern had a solid squad last year, I watched the entire NCSU game. To say they would've rolled through Cincy, UCF, ECU, Memphis, or Houston last year as a joke.

You clearly don't know much about parity. College football is all about matchups, very few teams beat competitive teams in landslides.

Why would they play FCS and SunBelt teams when American teams would be better for their SOS? Of course ECU or Temple or Houston might just surprise them every so often. Maybe at least as often as ACC teams not called Florida State have lately.

We aren't NC State and UNC. It costs a lot more than any AAC team can afford pay to get us to go on the road. With the sorry ACC media deal we have to do whatever we can to maximize profits.

The only exceptions would be Temple and Tulane as we would like some recruiting exposure there we don't get from conference play, but both have burned us in the past......Tulane by buying out of a home and home at the last minute to host Southern so that they would know what it's like to actually have fans at a Tulane game in the Superdome and Temple selling their home game to Charlotte.

If any AAC team wants to collect a check and a beating we'll be more than happy to welcome them to the Valley.

I would think you would want to play one of the Texas teams for recruiting purposes. Otherwise I guess you will just stick to playing Wofford and Appalachian at home.

We don't typically recruit Texas. Last impact player we got out of Texas was LB John Leake from 2000-03. We have a commit from TE JC Chalk out of Texas, but his Granddaddy is Dabo's mentor Gene Stallings.

If a player shows interest in us we'll go anywhere, that's how we got DT Scott Pagano out of Hawaii but we aren't going too far out of our comfort zone.

As for our OOC slate we have nothing to be ashamed of. You mention Appalachian State like it's a bad game....they very well could be the best team in NC this year and last year. You fail to mention Notre Dame, the Auburn series starting next year, Texas A&M series starting in 2018, @ Notre Dame in 2020 while playing South Carolina every year.

Like I said....if an AAC team wants to make it worth our while financially and can assure they wouldn't hurt our SOS then we would likely be willing to listen. It would have to be a great offer to make us give up the potential P5 home and home we tend to like because there is absolutely no way we would be able to charge a premium ticket price for a G5 school like we can for the SEC schools we tend to play thus costing us money on both ends.

I doubt App St is the best in NC, but even if they go 11-1 what in the hell have they proven against this schedule?

* Conference Games

I am a ASU alum. They play FBS in their wheel house, with the Clemson game for the revenue. They probably aren't as good as UNC and ECU, maybe Duke but they are probably better than Wake and State. It might be more accurate to say that they are one of the best teams in the Sunbelt. There is no shame it that.
