Wait, what?

Ha! Good to be back in the MAC!

So many games on TV Saturday I keep wanting to bail out on this one, but more than likely I will go. Realisticly this may be the last chance I get to go to Dix this year as I'm not sure how many of the late season weeknight games I will be able to make with my work schedule. I'm planning on making the drive to the Glass Bowl next weekend so I will at least have that one to look forward too.

Anyways, back to the game: I think we have some good things to build on going into Conference play (defense, last weeks running game etc), looking forward to seeing how this plays out. Our season starts NOW.

RE: Week 5 - Miami of OH @ Kent State (Homecoming)
It'll be interesting to see how we look vs. a MAC team. So far Marshall was the closest thing to "our level" that we've faced and we clearly are comparable to them. If we want to have any chance to contend in the MAC East or for bowl eligibility this is one we have to win. It'll be interesting to see how the defense looks with Murray and Holley out. I love Holley but Cuthbert is probably our most capable second string player at any position so I think we'll be fine there. I'm more concerned at the corner. Looks like Quan Robinson, a 169 lb. freshman will be filling in for Murray. I imagine Miami is planning on testing him early and often. I thought he looked fine filling in for Murray last week and I remember hearing good things about him in camp. However, Miami will have a week to plan how they want to isolate him. So we can expect to find out a lot about him in the first half of this one.

On offense we would be wise to slow it down in the first half to try to shorten the half. Give them less time against out depleted secondary. We need to focus on getting the ball into Antwan Dixon's hands. From what I've seen he's the one guy on this team that can change a game any time he touches it. I'd also like to see us make an effort to get Kris White more involved. From what I've seen he's our best WR. Can't let him have 0 catches again. I like James catching it out of the backfield too. Really hoping to see some strides in the passing game this week. And, of course, feed Durham.

Now that we've seen Durham have a good game and an emerging offensive threat in Dixon, we have to take the next step forward and start winning games. At this point I think the coaches should know what they have with this team, now it's time to put them in the right places and start getting some wins in MAC play. Miami is the perfect opportunity to get started on the right foot.

Wow, I cannot remember a worse weather day for homecoming since I've followed the program. I have a feeling this is gonna turn a lot of people away. This feels like November 3. I unfortunately will not be able to make it either.

O/T Purdue down 14-0 to Mich St... Looks like it could get ugly fast. Hazell is good as gone in my book.

Wish Hazell would have held out for the Wisconsin job. Good coach, Purdue is just a bad job.

21-0 now..... And I agree: Purdue was career suicide.

Now MSU 24 Purdue 21 with 6:00 left. What would a win today do for Hazell?

Been a nice rally, but MichSt just held them on 4th down so looks like it's gonna fall short. I will say with 100% certainty that Sparty is overated.

Should be a lot more than a 13 point lead, but the D is great again.
